thats how i lost my turtle one day i let it out playing catch with my brother my eye was off it 1 minute. never underestimate how fast they can move. 1 month later i found a wild turtle to take its place.

I mean, I just got a turtle from a friend that couldn't take care of it, knowing NOTHING about turtles.. But you two make me look like a turtle GENIUS in comparison! First off, stroking it's back? Really? It's a shell, calcium, NOT like a damn dog or cat. Also, look how you hold it, on the sides. It's definitely not going to get hurt off something like that either, hence the shell. It's actually best to hold a turtle by the end of the shell with both thumbs on top with a firm grip. This way, the turtle can not bite you and their claws won't hurt you as much. If you hold by the edges, they will struggle and they might fall thus, cracking their shell, which will kill them.
