@1crazyrasta Do you use a different type of bow to violins? The bow in the video looks much more like a modern replica of a baroque bow rather than a standard modern bow. Also it's strange seeing the performer pull at the hairs so much. That's something I'd never dare to do on mine.
@Harlequin374 Hi - I don't think anyone answered your question yet. I just purchased my first Erhu and am enjoying learning this beautiful instrument. As you can see, the bow is very different from the violin bow, as the bow goes BETWEEN the strings. Also, you actually are supposed to touch the bow hairs to play the instrument, which is something I would dare not do on my own violin! It is a wider bow because you have to put pressure on the bow to change between the D and the A string.
Yes the wailing "voic ' of this instrument is haunting and takes listener to real meditative moments. thanks for posting. To a western ear is exciting in its promise of exotica and dusky habitats in far away veiled mountains clouded in mist and mystery.
Beautiful !!! Very nice *---* ;)

So that's how they make all the background music to those badly dubbed kung fu movies.

What is the white powder?

@YamiPoyo Rosin. its the same stuff that violinists use on their bows. its so that the bow will stick to the strings and pull them

Great sound, great mise en scene. However, the black and white shots are affected and irritating.
