  • WOW! One of my fav things to eat a few times a week, is a good hearty veggie dinner. And this is lovely. I never thought to use the lentils! Adds a good substance! OK...not to sound to wierd - but - will you marry me? AHAHAHAHAHA

  • @GoranMak

    Nice one and great comment!

The lentils are great in this dish.

I hope you enjoy the food!

Thanks again for the comms :)

    OriginalNakedChef

  • is there a reason why you need to let the soup cool down a bit before blending?

  • @jbeattie86

    Hi jbeattie86,

The reason I suggested to let the soup cool down first is sometimes when you blend the soup it can splash the liquid with the hand held blenders. If it does splash it better if it has cooled down first.

    OriginalNakedChef :)

  • those lentils just the dry ones you get in a pack? not tinned or anything

  • @MufasaSays

That's quite correct. The dry lentils come in a packet.

    OriginalNakedChef

    OriginalnakedChef

  • I'd been looking for a red lentil soup for a while.

Tried one in Morrison's magazine that used 300g lentils in 1 litre of stock that set like cement overnight. Not sure if the 300g is was a typo.

Just tried your recipe and it's very nice and healthy. Will definitely be making it again.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @blutey

    Hi blutey,

I think sometimes recipes do have typo errors and it makes a world of difference when you cook it.

I am glad you enjoyed the recipe and as you say, it's a nice healthy one :)

    OriginalnakedChef

  • this seems Amazing <3 going to try it soon, it's just i have a couple of questions if you don't mind ^^:

1)i don't have cumin seeds, i only have powder .. can it be used?

    2) can i use freshed chopped tomato ? or does it have to be canned?

3)can i make this the night before and then have it as lunch after i don't know..10 hours? ^^

bare with me please i'm new to the whole cooking thin:(

  • @i1l2f3h4v5d6

Apologise for the slow reply. The cumin seads would be prefered, but powder will be ok.
