  • the only thing that I really like is that the stairs are really stairs, not a skewed image of stairs lol.

  • he Disabled Tessellation on dx9

  • slight different textures

  • ...so DX11 makes things look more cartoonish

  • It's true that DX11 makes the details look better or rather makes them pop up more but the framerate on dx11 (in this vid) is at least 20% less than dx9

  • 3:02 DirectX9 is not even stairs its a fucking ramp. with wallpaper glued on. smh and just to think xbox360 has this crap and I have a 360. :s .....Forever Alone lol

  • Shitty graphics will look shitty regardless of directx version.

  • I can't see any difference unless I stop and concentrate on something really hard.

  • @tazss159 you cant see the difference with tessellation through the whole video? your blind as shit

  • @PsiloCybinDreamX Tessellation makes a negligible difference to the visual quality whatsoever. It just bumps up bricks and rocks, that's pretty much the only difference. The visual detail is still exactly the same.

  • @tazss159 the visial quality is the same yeah, but it looks better with tessellation on

  • so dx9 cant do proper staris??....funny cause ive seen proper stairs ton of times on dx9 ...dx 11 little details look very very nice but the dragon looks ugly as hell

  • dx11 is nice, but its nothing to go crazy over.

  • Won't make much of a difference unless you stop and stare at a brick wall or something. imo

  • Windows 8 might be using DirectX 12

  • Good thing I went here. Was thinking to cash in my hard earned 200 USD to get a descent DX11 card (GT 560). But now changed my mind- will stick to my GF9800 for another half year- the difference is so small I can live without DX11.

  • So what I noticed is:

    - Dx9 has flat pavement instead of "rocky" one

    - Dargon has no spikes in dx9

    - Some of the buildings corners are flat/ straight in dx9 insted of rough shaped

What are the dx11 effects that makes those? And is it everything?

  • @Mfilipcewicz Is it all tessellation?

  • are these run at the same time recorded ONCE or are these 2 seperate recordings?

  • @PkerTomy They're two seperate recordings put together in one video.

  • DX 9 more FPS, DX 11 more lags. :)

  • Use DX11 if you want the best tessellation.

  • Is it just me or does the Dx9 look better than the Dx 11 ;)....

  • even though dx11 looks amazing i think imma stick with dx9 since its still great and my pc is quite old.

  • So all that DX11 does is make everything more pointy?

    Cool.

  • Those rocks would kill a horse's feet.

  • @av3nger3 Good point ...

  • people go crazy for dx11 -__-

  • 3:10 - note the straight line of the shadow going over the stairs in dx9

  • what is game the elder scrolls 5 skyrim ?

  • To be honest i like dx9 better. It kinda have that unrealistic look to it to make it feel like a game. That dx11 just makes it looking like your everyday stuff and makes you wanna go play some damn minecraft?

  • @Azazazznik есть разницы: травка красевее! :D

  • А если нет разницы, зачем платить больше?

  • The only diffrence i see is that who ever made the environment took there time with the DX11 version and added 3d bevels and models to there textures and left dx9 with flat boring ones...and a little more DoF (depth of field) blur to DX11..thats it....unless your pc's over $1,500 stick with DX9...you'll be satisfied...-_-

  • @iwhbyd11 Actually the bumpyness of the stones on the walkway is a feature called tessellation is only available in DirectX11

  • if i dont have to buy vista for DX11, i just play it in DX9 on xp

  • BTW, do you like your 5850? Considered crossfiring it?

  • The huge difference I see is mostly tesselation. I wonder when they will get rid of DX9 support. Maybe when they finally release new consoles...

  • i cant remember that games with dx9 had such shitty stairs oO

  • @619MAD yh i have never seen a dx9 game were the stairs are flat.

  • Ha dx11 makes it hard to walk in bare feet and to pat dragons :)

  • i have win XP.

sure it caps off my ram at 3.2gbs instead of 4

    and sure, no dx 11.

but i don't think this diffirence shown here is worth $150

  • The 9 version looks like blurry cardboard, and the 11 version goes depth-happy on all specified surfaces until the FPS drop from great to okay levels. I wonder how added physics like shell casings affect it.

  • 2:28 to 3:41 DX11 Rocks!!!

  • Pause at 2:02 and see the difference.

  • DX 11 Lags and DX9 Runs smoothly!!!

  • What's the song?

  • I bought i new computer with windows 7 wich supports dx 11 ok ! and i downgraded to xp 64-bit wich suports dx 9 and i didn't noticed diference beetwen dx 9 & dx 11 realy! the only i noticed ..dx 11 laggs !!!

  • @lefteris908 yeah i agree dx 11 has better graphics (only if you card supports dx 11) it laggs a little! ... if you watch carefully you will see a little lagg in this Video

  • i have 7600gs am i cool?

  • dx9 still owns

  • and theres a reason for it. While everyone is BUYING DX9 for PC converted from Xbox360 games like DIRT2 and Call of duty Modern warfare 2 and NOT really buying games like Crysis, developers will continue to make games for the majority of the planet NOT the DX11 minority.

  • its funny they did the same kind of BS iwth DX9 vs DX10 when DX 10 came out, and i never really saw the differnece actualyl IN the games accpet for lighting sun effects. Apart from that i never real;y saw a huge difference when playing actual games. Just loads of friggin benchmarks like this. Heres the reality in 2011 they are still making games for DX9 with a few DX11 features. NO games will be purely DX11 for years.

  • is it just me or does that DX9 look practically the same as DX11? accept for lighting effects? i said PRACTICLLY the same not exactly the same.

  • Nice work :), roof tiles are good, but you've got problem with over designing the road in DX 11. Who can ride anything (for example horse bind cart) on such a rocky, bumpy road? I bet even walking on such thing in heavy steel knight boots is pure pain, so to imagine riding a horse or driving mentioned cart. Nevertheless - good thing, this engine.

  • DX 11 wasent made t create roads lol

  • So what is making the 3d models have more details as if made from more polygons? The Dragon, the road, the roofs all are more bumpy and detailed. Are they made with more polygons? Is it an illusion of more detail created my DX11?

  • @Pinesal Tesselation is what makes it look alot more detailed and life-like by multiplying the polygons that are already there, so it automatically makes it less edgy like it has been for years.

  • stupid windows not letting me use dx10 or dx11 on windows xp

  • 2:39 to 3:01 is a big difference

  • see? dx9 is pretty much dx11, without tesselation.

anyway dx9 has parallax occlusion mapping which can look ALMOST as good.

    and dx11 lags >.<

  • i think that dx9 grass looks for rich in color but looks odd.

  • Cross your eyes and get a 3D video, lol

  • 1:44 0,0 dx11 power.

  • It's hard to notice, but the grass and foliage looks a bit better in DX11, and the dragon statue has a lot more details in DX11.

  • I didin't notice any difference. Which is why I am holding off on buying a DX11 card. I will keep my 8600GT for a while longer

  • For the most part, things don't look much different. It seems that DX 11 only made some textures look more three dimensional (road, roof, dragon spines, stone on buildings, etc.) and fps suffered noticeably. For a two iteration difference, I would expect to see more improvement. Lighting didn't seem different *at all*.

  • At 1:40 The road on DirectX 9 looks better. only cause on Directx 11 it's like jagged and rocky, who would want to walk on that :p?

  • @TorqueSmacky13

you are an idiot. DX9 that image is a pasted rock image. Tessellation is the reason dx11 is good because you no longer need to use pre-made stupid flat rock images stuck on that look like stickers. you can now customize it so much each and every rock one steps on can be different and in conjunction be more realistic.

  • @ethicks00 so your saying you would rather walk on the jagged rocks instead?

  • @TorqueSmacky13 yea......normally a round should be more comfortable!

  • @TorqueSmacky13 What are you smoking? That dx11 road was mind blowing more detailed

  • What's frustrating is that I can't seem to see much of a differnce. :(

  • I take that back, I can see the difference now, it's miniscule, but so much better. It's better texture, models, lighting, etc, pay real close attention to the closer details. :)

  • @roejames12 Miniscule?

The stones, the road, the stairs, the walls.. they are 3D in Dx11, flat in Dx9.

That road would be smooth sailing in Dx9, but it would kill anything that tried to walk/drive on it in Dx11, lol. It's uber bumpy.

  • i cant see much difference...

all i can figure out is FPS. DX11 have like 3x FPS than dx9.

    and DX9 is much simplyer

  • DX 10 Between 11 and 9 is just like Windows Vista between XP and Windows 7, You know what I mean?

  • I Have a GTX260 and DX10 gives me 20 fps while looking down into the clouds it gives me about 10! DX9 givest me 50-60 fps on max settings but no difference I see betweeen! there is not a big difference between 9 and 10, I prefere 9 Or if I had the a DX11 video card I would prefer 11 but not 10!

  • Those cobblestones are à bitch, if you have seen THE demo of THE tessalation, dayum from 500+ fps to 70 just à few cobblestones.

  • Dude, u have problem same as mine with Hd5750.

    Look at DX9 grass man.

All grass got some weird lines...

    Fucking drivers problem...

  • @Modesty00 Yeah I noticed that too, the dx9 grass looks really strange.

  • @DopErwin beleve me it's not dx9 on my HD4670 in dx9 it looks just almost like the dx11 grass

  • @Modesty00 just turn on antialiasing...

  • if you have only 23 fps your better running directx9 but i would love to get tessalation ingame soon with reasonable fps. i think the difference is quite astounding at some places (dragon, walls, stone path)

  • WOW! The difference is that DX11 mode takes a nasty FPS hit!

Look how smoother DX9 version runs.

  • @rodzandz runs 5 fps lower on my compy

  • @rodzandz Actually the DX11 benchmark had an average of ~23 fps whereas the DX9 one had 50+.

  • @DopErwin

That's what I'm saying. It's not work sacrificing more than 50% of performance for insignificant graphic enhancements.

  • Comment removed

  • @DopErwin

    that's what he was saying.

the only time dx11 would take the hit is when tessellation came into play.

  • @DopErwin lol

  • @DopErwin Which proves exactly what he said? Are you broken?

  • no shit, its technology is so low even my laptop runs it...

  • @rodzandz Also look at how incomparably ugly DX9 is to DX11

  • this same.. .;/

  • Hmmm, the only noticeable difference is the tessalation at a few instances on the rocks (example: 1:32) but other than that you really have to focus to see a difference

  • buena la comparacion, excelente video
