Most of the time you need basic literacy skills to qualify for programs,but that won't be a problem because most students already mastered them in elementary school. Programs are not really jobs, they don't require a diploma only skills you learned in school like knowledge of hardware components learned from computer science courses. From the video, I believe introducing students into IT programs and activities is a way to reduce the chance of them dropping out.
These programs sound great, but don't you have to be able to read and write to qualify for these positions? Will you be accepted without a high school diploma? What does this have to do with the drop out problem?
