Yea...honestly I think the only thing stopping them getting together was that he was her boss. Sorkin used this excuse a lot and I think he just didn't want to deal with the drama that would ensue and push them into the forground.

It's the same with any show. As soon as two people that have been dancing around each other finally get together their plot isn't as interesting.
