I'm a Buddhist, but I am only learning to respect Islam, Buddhism teaches non-violence and Islamic people have displayed violence.
Buddhist laws are in many ways stricter than Islamic laws, we're not allowed to eat meat for example, the rules on sexual conduct are actually stricter also. All though we Buddhists practice patience with people and don't force them with violence or capital punishment.

Really this is the teaching of islam.. ? Buddha gave his teachings but he encouraged everyone to find his/her own truth by experimenting .. following his practice as a guidelines. The truth is discovered by each individual on their own.
So it means everyone must find his/her own truth .. not being persuade or teach to understand. All rules and regulation .. definition of bad and good like all things are impermanent.

A Buddhist friend of mine upon hearing the news out of Afghanistan that the Taliban had destroyed the ancient Buddha statue responded by saying that she was grateful to these Muslims for helping her to appreciate the truth & beauty of the Buddhas core teaching that all forms are impermanent.....
Imagine our world if adherents of ALL religions had this kindly attitude

In Buddhism, when we are mocked/shamed by others, we do not observe what wrong they did, instead we thank the person (for helping us train our restrain and for telling us where we could have gone wrong when we don't know), in a sense everyone are like our teachers who contribute to our development. The Buddhists respects all religion, because schism is a big no no in Buddhism, and could bring about grave karmic consequences.

@ishiishun I grew up in a western country only exposed to Christianity, upon maturing, I didn't give up Christianity, I just embraced ALL other religions including atheism, I constantly feel wonderful sense of love for ALL life, & appreciate sincere expression that convey love. Who knows the ultimate evolutionary destiny of life & consciousness, I'm guessing LOVE of everything.

What Mr. Naik is saying is that Salafism or a modern (smart) form of Wahhabism is Islam? This is wrong. As Muslims we should respect all other religions. We do not need to stop Buddhist, Sikhs or Christians, or even Hindus. Rather, if they find truth in us (our living example) they will also be interested in Islam. as they were in the past. First of all, muslims ARE NOT the best of people and islam IS NOT the religion of peace. Muslims are excitable, passionate, misguided people moved by greed, anger and delusion. When muslims destroyed the Bamiyan Buddhas you did not see Buddhists burning the koran or calling for the death of muslims, etc. Why is that? Because Buddhism teaches true peace. No where do you see in the texts that it is ok to harm another. That is NOT the case in the koran, and that is why islam is not peaceful.

History shows that man in his animal savage state kills for no reason. Islam deals with reality and you should defend yourself from Satan. Buddhist deal with Satan with none violence. So did Martin Luther King and look what white christans did to him. Malcolm X said he needed a religion that allowed him to defend himself and agree.

Buddhism teaches a way out of this corruption via insight meditation. Anger begets anger -- this is a universal truth. Even Islam split into two -- Suni & Shia, now these two are killing each other. Each of these are "defending" themselves, so when will it ever end? It ends here with our conquering ourselves, of the corruptions.
