But the ideals of the parties involved will be reflected in that coalition, all be it if they have to compromise. Now, back to my request: why are the current average global temps rising if not because of greenhouse emissions? Some of hints of crocks not to try: don't say "changes to global tilt", don't say "increased solar activity", don't say "alterations to orbit" because none of these forcing events are taking place.

How can i debate when you label valid claims as 'crocks' . I bet you would even label the fact that a volcano producing more c02 a year than all the factories combined as a 'crock' and why cant I say that solar activity is linked to earth climate? its certainly not a crock. Even if 'greenhouse gasses' are evil like you say they are, human activities have little to do with them. Im all for reducing actual pollution but to target c02 as the problem is regressive to fixing problems.

Solar activity is not a valid claim re the current warming event because there has been no increased solar activity for decades. It has been one of the reasons for past warming, as has global tilt and orbital variations as well. The atmosphere/biosphere exists in a delicate balance. It doesn't take much to tip that and then create other forcing events.

anthropogenic climate change may be in dispute by some groups and individuals, but the need for us as a species to sustain our own existence is not in question by any means, in order to achieve this, we need to invest in renewable sources of energy.

if the fact that we're polluting our home by burning brown coal doesn't make you sick, then surely the fact that we can't dig up coal forever should make you nervous about the future.

Even if people want to dispute CO2 as a source of global warming, they should recognise the link between excessive CO2 and oceanic acidification and its effects on marine organisms with exoskeletons comprised of calcium carbonate.

This is reason enough for us to reduce carbon emissions as we are facing the risk of destroying the base of the ocean's food chain (as well as masses of biodiversity) which would have grave consequences for the planet.

digging up coal from the ground and pouring it out in another form into the atmosphere is not a natural process, this is where we create an imbalance in the planet's natural cycles.

reducing carbon dioxide emissions is actually being very polite and nice about it. what we really need to do is shut down all unsustainable energy generating plants and replace them with sustainable sources of energy, progressively over as short a period as possible.

The Greens proposals that these initiatives will create jobs is correct, but they cannot continue to act as moral elites while they omit the fact that thousands of jobs will be lost also.

Also, why is it that climate skeptics are constantly assumed to have vested interests in carbon? I don't, and climate change due to humans seemed to be touted as a scientifically proven theory. It is not. It has many critics as well as supporters.
