are there restrictions on gettin a bobber inspected? cus i wanna make one really bad but i dont know what guidlines i have to follow in order to make it legal
well done mate just the way it shoud be, just us any parts you can find and make them work, not like those panzy bikes ppl make for 1000s and 1000s, your bike has true soul a true bike, well done
"Remember the black bandana?" We got the reference the first time you showed the picture of it on your face and then again on your bike seat. Fishing for compliments haha. OH and speaking of that bandana I was wondering if it faded from black to brown from ass sweat or the sun or both. From the looks of it you have a potential plumbers crack which would explain the butt sweat nawmean? The band decals made it more teeny bopper than a ratted bobber nawmean? Too contrived... Trying very hard.
Nice bike. think your bike is low budget.Mine is a 300 dollar, 31 yr. old factory rolling wreck, but everything works.put 4 bucks gas in it yesterday, went 60 miles to the beach and back with my girl in tow.The ride back was no traffic, summer ridin' in the sunset. I'm glad people don't realize the value in old jap bikes.Or I wouldn't have any bike at all. It needs new tread and chain and has earned it.peace
i love that bike but why multi band instead of single theme but the misfits on tank is awesome!! and honestly i love these older bikes that look like they have done something than any newer bike. i have a 86 shadow that i would love to bob but im not sure where to start.
Cool bike!! Nothing is cooler than a guy who builds his ride with own two hands. Old school bobbers and such are a true statement...unlike all the middle aged, pretentious a-holes who go to a Harley showroom and buy a 15k+ dyna or posers on the all soooooo original 883. Bunch of cookie cutter sh*t, them all with their polished leather gear etc.
Fun and original is what youour did here man and THAT is true freedom making it in your garage withown two hands. Congrats..........
Have a trump bobber in the works..........for ever. Got a 78 kz650 too. Thought it would look like shit with the wide ass double down tubes up front. Looks pretty good tho. NEED to see a ridin video.
@chopp666 Not to worry...break out the Platinum Visa card, head to the nearest Harley boutique dealer and load up with $49,200 in chrome accessories. Once you get that installed, proceed to trailer it to all the bike events. Seriously though, toss up some pics of your $800 bike. It is probably way cooler than the high dollar yuppie specials. Bikes that scare the general population are an added bonus. Check out ratbike.org for some mind bending bikes.
LOVE IT!!! did about the same thing with a 97 Suzuki Intruder. All flat black, cut the fenders, bandana for the seat, lowered the rear and cut the exaust
Cool. I can appreciate anyone who takes the time to do the work themselves. Any A-hole with the bucks can walk into a Harley shop and buy one. I t takes a real Motorcycle enthusiast to tear his bike a part and put it back together the way he likes.
I understand that bobbers are meant to have all unneeded parts from the bike removed, but are they ever built with 2 seaters? I was also wondering how much are yearly insurance rates for a bobber being that it's a custom bike. I plan on getting this before a car and I'd love for someone who knows more about this to enlighten me.
Now thats a real chopper! Nice work! A couple of years ago i did a 78 XS500 Yamaha. It turned out like your. Did it for 1400 bucks included buying the bike. Keep up the good work!
@883buz I got the bandanna wet so it would strech a little. Then I thumbtacked it it place then I rubber cemented the edges to the bottom of the seat. You have to strech it real good to get rid of all the wrinkles and folds that might show up.
Thing's sick, man. I'm actually gonna go out of my way to bob out a jap bike. Seems like all of the "get a real bike" crowd are rich fuckers. I don't know anyone who can afford a Harley. You get your "real bike", I'll be a real biker.
hey man youre more of a real man for doing it yourself than any fuckin preachy harley shithead who thinks its only a real bike if its got a bigass name brand. real bikes are built, not bought, and if johnny badass the harley riding office clerk thinks hes cooler than you, let him think that cause we all know its not the case.
thanks! appreciate! looks like we went for the same type of bars, lol i never seen a set of attack bars till 6 months ago now i see em on ever bob n chop out there, pretty rad. i tell myself its all cause of me. hahaha.
thats the thing tho, like my 650 kwak can hang with a 1000cc harley and walk away from it at any speed, harley guys jerk off to their big displacement but it dont mean squat. harley power is a joke, spend 30k on a harley evo to make it do what... keep up with a 1000cc sport bike? why? lol coulda bought 3 of that 1000cc sport bike for what you spent on your motor, which will probably blow up before it hits 5k miles.
i can relate! im building an 82 kz750 and everything is gonna be as cheap as possible...with that said, Great Job! its great to see someone build somthing they can enjoy!
