It is rather funny reading some of these response. Piper doesnt have never had a tv in his home. I hear he only has a few outfits. Also that he lives very frugle. My point is while many critque his (i believe Holy Hedonistic) ministry many of you are as C.S. LEWIS described "content making mudpies at the sea..." for you infinite joy is an iphone or "American Idol" with the family while our brothers and sisters are being slaughtered by those whom we are called to love. @Strefanasha Hey did you take in account that this is a 3 minute video. Watch an entire Piper sermon and you'll realize why we read the Bible as a whole, including Piper. There is a joy in Christ that Piper touches on in nearly every sermon. Give the guy a chance...he is on fire for Christ and little excerpts like this will never accurately capture the concepts he touches on. Don't be so quick to condemn...this isn't blasphemy being spoken.

I think Piper is trying to remove rose-coloured glasses that some Christians wear. Yes all people suffer because this is a fallen world, but only Christians suffer for Christ.
