  • we really need to understand this more....it would be excellent for cryogenics research

  • I hope cryonic researchers are studying the science behind how this animal survives being frozen.

  • @fromstart2finish They are.. One theory is that the animals body produces biological antifreeze like compounds similar to glycerol that prevent ice crystalization. The cryonics organizations have developed formulas that act in a similar fashion. Tissues frozen that have been purfused with these formulas show very little crystalization...instead they vitrify like glass maintaining the structural integrity of the cells and thus the organism. Cryonis patients benefit from this research as a result.

  • I usually "perform", then go to sleep. ;-)

  • @dLimboStick

    ROTFL

  • There're gargoyles frozen in an iceberg right now

  • I published this video on the Dutch website WELSTIJL (22 february) Kind regards Sem Mallée

  • fix sound now

  • This is why cryonics will work some day!

  • This is why all the nay sayers who talk against cryonics are wrong...here is proof that it could work some day...despite their claiming cells are destroyed ect ect..the frog is alive and well..and if nature can do it some day we will be able to copy nature and perhaps do much better!

  • @DK0526 Yeah biotechnology needs to find the gene that codes for this kind of dormancy. Also cockroaches can freeze and though out unharmed.

  • @jityr2 That would be useful and it is being looked into. It is always better to have an organism produce its own dormancy then to try to force it on a organism that has a different genetic coding.

  • I left a Illinois toad in a metal bucket one night and next morning it was froze SOLID, I mean SOLID. That afternoon after school the toad was thawed out, normal, and ALIVE and KICKING!!!

  • Sex right after being frozen? Talk about shrinkage.

  • freaking crazy!!

  • Incredible

  • ALCOR Foundation believe that intelligence, memories & personality are determined primarily by the structure & chemistry of the human brain. Our aim is to preserve the brain so faithfully that its unique identity will also be preserved,so that future science may be able to revive the individual. We realize that this is highly speculative, but we feel that human life is sufficiently precious to justify our attempt, even thought the outcome is unknown.

  • FROGS ROCK!!

  • AMAZING, INCREDIBLE! How come we weren't told about this in school! What a gyp!

  • @landbridge There is alot we havent been told in school. Critical thinking and logic are rarely taught in school. We are expected to accept traditional norms with out question such as what death is. We are also told to throw out other traditional norms such as the austrian business cycle of how recessions are created by central banks. Keep asking questions and seeking knowledge and you will be better for it. Cryonics is really an untapped mystery to the masses. It holds the key to very long life

  • Absolutely incredible, I've heard of beatles freezing themselves but frogs are far more complex. Interesting!
