I think it's interesting that this is called "Jack's Love Theme." It's really more like "Jacks' Love Theme" because it is only played in "Captain Jack Harkness" when he dances with the original Captain Jack. So it seems kind of wrong that people mistakenly associate it with Jack & Ianto or Jack and other people, haha.

I love this so much, I wish I could just listen to it all day. It makes me happy and sad at the same time because it is just so beautiful but to short, and it ends very abruptly but thats just like Jack's love life. Beautiful whilst it lasts but way to short. Also has anyone else noticed at 1:32 the chords to Queen's 'Who Wants To Live Forever'? Perfect for the song and the charachter.

And, if I'm not mistaken, I think I heard it in the episode (can't remember what it's called) where they show how each of them joined Torchwood, in one of the scenes where Ianto and Jack meet. It's a slightly modified version though, and you can barely hear it in the background because Ianto and Jack are talking while it plays. I could have been excitedly imagining it, but I swear I heard it.

As much as i love this, it bothers me that they changed it from what appeared in the episode. They left out the buildup to the kiss, which was easily the most powerful moment of the entire episode. While the cello interlude they put in is nice, I would still prefer the original

Some of my favorite music of all time from the series simply because it's so moving. You want to cry and yet it makes you smile at the same time. It's just so beautiful I can't really describe it.

I refuse to belive that. It's true that he didn't say it back (which made me want to smash my computer) but I belive that Jack just didn't say it back to protect himself because he knew Ianto was going to die and probably thought it would be easier to not admit his true feelings towards him. But again, that's just wat I belive.

Before he was just the cutie/mystery/excitement factor, but now the Doctor is the closest think Jack has to a stable connection with anyone. Everyone else will die. He is attracted to many people, and has deep feelings for many people, but I don't think he'll ever again have the fire-like-passion that completely changes his universe...because he knows it's just momentary in the span of his life.

@95kittens my take on it is that Jack has had so many people that he loves die that he doesn't think he could stand it another time. So instead of watching people he loves die, he tries to prevent himself from falling in love, but he fell in love with Ianto anyway, but he just couldn't bring himself to admit it, because that would make it real. But it is my honest opinion that Jack really did love Ianto with all the love he could give, and deeply regretted not saying i love you back.
