They were blocking public transportation in an unauthorized protest. When the so called "peaceful" protest got out of hand, 19 people were shot. Protesters are killed all the time in countries all around the world. If you want to foment violent revolution, expect an equally violent backlash. The MST movement is and has always been violent and destructive. Extreme poverty is not the cause of the crime or the drug wars in Rio, however, crime and drugs may be the cause of extreme poverty.
@mshibler watch "they killed sister Dorothy". it's a good start to you. and, about Rio, there are no "communist traffickers", but only white-collar-almighty-bourgeois-legislators, who profit from the death of hundreds of poor civilians and police officers per year.
You have not proved anything. All you have are empty accusations with no proof. Get real. Show some bodies or hidden film or something at least. This whole slave labor deal is a farce. Don't you think they could at least get one incident on film, just one on a hidden camera, but no. Just false, empty accusations.
Try watching the actual movie. They DO show incidents, and yes, they DO even show bodies. The evidence is certainly not in favor of the fazendeiros in question.
I watched the movie several times, there are no bodies. There are lots of rhetoric maybe, who knows, it is possible, probably, but there are no facts. Do you think the farmers would allow there to be a cemetery or crosses if there were foul play? They would dump the bodies far away. This is a bunch of socialist trash repeated ad nauseum by leftists like Dom Pedro and the so called Sister Dorthea.
I did not watch the entire movie you mention...I have, however, been watching coverage for the last two years by every leftist news organ. Plenty of accusations but very little proof. These same leftists never dwell on the many cases of farmers killed by the Sem Terra movement. Or the hundreds of deaths caused by openly communist drug traffickers in Rio. Not trying to canonize the farmers here but take the beam from your own eye before removing the pebble from the others.
Man, first of all try to study a little bit. You are part of the americans who don't even know what is the capital city of Brazil. Is it "Buenos Aires" right? At least this is what Clinton believes heheheh Lol! Man! Realize, this is true, buy a ticket and go there before saying bad things about this poor people... Get out from the "magic bubble" that you live and study another cultures and not only "american homer simpson way of life"... My best wishes to you...
First of all, I went to Brazil five times already. I stayed in Brasilia, DF for several months each time. If you are familiar with Brasilia you might even know where I lived. Taguatinga, QND 59 Casa 33 and later near the American ambassador's house on the Parkway. I have also traveled to Paraguay, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Britain and Canada. Currently, I am three miles from the Mexico - Texas border in a hotel. What were you saying about other cultures?
@mshibler And what about Eldorado? What do you say about Eldorado Massacre? communist trafickers? maybe, you're crzy, those people are son of extremely poverty in Rio.
