Lol? Only thing the anime had better than the OVA/manga was elaborated details within thieir individual plots. And the manga plot was much more extensive than the anime one. Best thing that anime had was true vampire vs true vampire. And even Incognito was one hell of a fail.

It's just a really lousy Manga-Adaption with a plot that completely derailed after the Valentine Attack and left out a ton of gread Characters like Bernadotte and the entire Millenium-Organisation while absolutely downplaying Andersen and Maxwell. How can you say Ultimate was crap? It's still going and it's becoming more badass with each episode (with Alucard releasing level 0 in the most recent one).

the OVA is much better, only 2 things are better in this anime: Integra's look and this fight..the music at 1:30.. it feels like the end of the world.

Anyway, OVA/Ultimate has some good action scenes, but I like that the anime made a side story and cut the bullshit from the manga with the Ridiculous "comedy", if you want to even call it that :p

They're both good, Helena was never mentioned or Seras' fathers whereabouts or friends, Incognito, nothing of the sort.

Those were some really good characters, I see 0 reason for not adding them into OVA/Ultimate :)

@toxicitzi Because all those characters were not in the original manga story which the OVA is an adaptation of. Seras father is shown in OVA 7 and it is revealed that he and his wife were killed by gangsters in their house with seras being wounded and having to watch them rape her mothers corpse. Helena was just a copy of Claudia from Interview with the vampire and Incognito was a bad copy of the original Hellsing character Zorin Blitz. It was the TV show who left out some great characters.

@Wurzelknecht that can't be true because Zorin Blitz made her first real appearance in volume 6.

you can argue all you want that because the manga showed her in chapter 24 for the first time, it counts, but just as well as that every other officer of the Nazi brigade could have made this bad copy which was Incognito.. the point is, Incognito was meant to be the fake Alucard and that was pretty interesting. being an artificial Vampire with powers closest to Alucard, it was a good first season end

The OVA is a remake. someone called it Directors Cut. Not wrong and not right. Clearly the OVA is clearlier in storyline, bloodier and more brutal. But i think that both are equal good. Some scenes were cut out, cause they didn´t need it in OVA

Not so sure about signature series, but Hellsing OVA was made to be English dubbed, Japanese was only a second option. Just like Afro Samurai. Both are excellent dubs, 'specially Hellsing.

For level zero, you must wait for Hellsing ova that comes someday. Level One can be seen on hellsing episode 13.

Actually Alucard never has level zero in tv, only in manga and soon enought in ova. But if he has, imagine that he can beat a god WITHOUT his full powers (It is level 1, situation A on episode 13)
