@dutchsinse Basic physics does not allow for something so small and insignificant to put resistance or acculturate the ebb and flow of inner earth magma much less the size and pressure of massive plates. These wells are minuscule in size and apply no resistance what so ever to the weight behind entire plates. Look at the facts. the pressure in the 'holes' would be the greatest at the surface (least resistance from above)which would provide resistance against plate movement hence slow quakes.

The USA is at very high risk or an earthquake not only because we are getting increased amounts of earthquakes but because we are the only section of the ring of fire that has not had a major quake in recent times. Let me start by saying forgive my ignorance. I stumbled upon this, by hearing there was a quake in Florida, my daughter lives there, so I found this video. Can you PLEASE explain what all this means for us? I mean, will this become a disaster? my bug out box contains a water pump / filter clothes jackets tent compass knives utencils flashlights batteries basic tools grooming supplies like toothpaste fingernail clippers etc.. make sure you have a tent blankets and water and some basic food...

but I live in St. Louis...

Some people may want to explore the quakes and things by use of the RSOE EDIS website out of Hungary which shows what is going on each day. It shows/highlights all new quakes for an hour and leaves a marker. You can click the quake markers for the strength and info or scroll down the page to the list of earthquakes. Lots of major Earth disasters reported on it. Also , you can click regions or Zoom the map like Google Earth to see close to the ground. Google RSOE EDIS.

dutch, are there any graphs available that plot the number and magnitude of earthquakes that occur in a particular area/region by month, year, decade? Such a graph would be most helpful for doing comparisons, spotting patterns, trends and so on. For instance: I look at Central AR and see that there has been 700 EQs in the past 6 mos. Well, when was the last time such a swarm happened? An accurately plotted graph would be so helpful to getting a broad perspective at a glance.

Dutch, I have been following Yellowstone and Baja for a year, now. I also like to keep an eye on Alsaka and the Ring of Fire in the Pacific.Those areas always seem to show a lot of activity. But the midwest is not typical. That is seriously frightening. Especially knowing that the National Level Exercise, NLE, is going on.
