  • You turn around and then, the "HOLY #@%*ING SHIT!"

  • *hears about geography exam*

    *music plays*

  • Y'know, I must say that Gruntilda is the most badass boss in nintendo history. Why? Well, she becomes a cyborg more or less after she's beat in the first game, and then she's an undead witch driving a giant drill tank. Plus this is the most badass final boss theme ever. Nuff said.

  • Great game.

  • I want that Nintendo gets Rare back from f*cking Microsoft!

  • Omg I remember seeing Nuts & Bolts coming out and I got so excited because it was Banjo & Kazooie and I wanted it so bad....then I bought it and was like, wtf is this?!!?

  • few words for Nintendo. Buy Rare back from Microsoft! Nuts & Bolts Sucked!

  • @superpiano9943

I don't know if they'd be much better considering the games would be on the wii. Also I kinda liked Nuts and Bolts more than Tooie. Banjo Tooie can be really confusing and having to keep swapping between characters and not being able to beat levels without going to later levels first was a bit annoying . The FPS portions haven't aged so well either. The original is still one of my favorite games period though.

  • @superpiano9943 No, they just should buy the rights to these characters and let Retro develop a new game. Well, probably not "should", but in a perfect world...

  • @superpiano9943 LIES

  • @superpiano9943 true that...

  • cool theme

  • Gygas cannot comprehend the true difficulty of this boss.

  • I love this track and Banjo-Tooie is one of my favorite games of all time! You can always count on Rare to put fantastic music in their games.

  • its a shame that Rare has now dissolved before our eyes.

  • i'm sure everyone remebers going "OH SHIT" when they heard this music for the first time... god knows i do XD

  • @MusicGuyKevin no the oh shit part was the "SHES GOT A TANK THIS TIME!? im so screwed" lmao

  • so similar to DK64's final boss theme.

  • @crazykirby97 Same composer.

  • @BaronSamediVoodooLoa no duh, I just meant he couldn't write something new

  • Grunty dislikes this

  • The song that plays when chuck norrus pours his cereal. OF PWNSAUCE

  • @cloudyboy94 .Grunty would not hate this video for no reason.

To not use her picture is an act of treason!

  • i almost succeeded in beating Gruntilda without the use of any cheats and extra health within the mini-game section. only needed that last hit but got hit but boy was it fun!

  • @cloudyboy94 The 10 hours it took to beat Kazooie was awesome too. But... I've yet to finish Galaxy, probably because I watched my brother do everything on his file.

  • i think banjo tooie was the final kids game for the n64 makeing this final boss the most epic boss on the n64. the last game released for the n64 was conkers bad fur day

  • @ampharos101 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 says hi.

  • @Aperrentis oh

  • Banjo-Fourie better have this one orchestrated.

  • Best final boss, had multiple challenges and many variety of attacks to put you in tension and most likely made you lost lots of lives before you actually managed to defeat it and the music is one of most epic tracks and fits it perfectly.

  • Yo kazooie, what does the scouter say about its power level?

    banjo: ITS OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • All systems, FULL POWER!

  • Best N64 final Battle scene ever

  • I love this theme

  • so much awsomeness into 1 cartridge! (or rom) the game gods made B-T because it was the ultimate game!

  • Banjo Tooie literally covered EVERY Genre of games.

    FPS

    Platforming

    Puzzles

    Adventures

    Quizzes

    Rare outdid themselves with Banjo-Tooie.

  • @smbz1

Don't forget Sport games and Strategy games!

    They only missed racing games.

  • @pikminlover72 True! True! And some RPG elements as well! Gosh, what hasn't B-T done? XD

  • @pikminlover72 Also, they did do three races. The two with Mary Canary, and the one with the fitness guy in Cloud Cuckookooland.

  • @smbz1: so I guess they covered every type of game!

  • @smbz1 You race Mr. Fit twice, actually. One was a sack race, and the other was a simple foot race.

  • @pikminlover72 Which they covered in BK: N&B.

  • and part fps with the eggs

  • @smbz1 It was way too hard though.

  • @BeanManIncorporated

Yeah, the game is hard. But that's what makes it fun! I'm almost finished with a playthrough of it again. Alls I got left to do is the FPS of GGM, 4 jiggies in Grunty Industries, one in HailFire Peaks, and 2 in Cloud Cuckooland. One of which is the Canary Mary race....joy, can't wait to do that. @-@

  • @smbz1 That's just it, it's WAY too hard. Of course, it's fun.

  • @BeanManIncorporated

It's not really that hard. I mean, it is hard, but it isn't WAY to hard. I mean, people are able to complete it. The only thing that is way to hard is the Canary Mary Race on Cloud Cuckooland. But I think that was just Rare's typical evil side at work. They even made a joke of it in Nuts & Bolts, where LOG says he was laughing so hard while designing that. xD

  • @smbz1 Well, I always got to Jolly Roger Lagoon and pretty much quit. Once you get there, it's too hard for ME.

I'm gonna be honest, as you can probably tell, I haven't beaten the game yet. I beat the final boss (with the original health and NO cheats), and I got to Jolly Rogers'.

It's still really fun and it's in my top 20 games, but I just... think it was too hard.

ESPECIALLY the Canary Mary race lol.

  • @smbz1 No RTS there

  • @smbz1 No RTS there (or cars, but shhhhh, let's not give them ideas (cough cough))

  • @devilgryphon

Haha, well cars would sort of fit the racing genre of games. And there were plenty of races in Banjo-Tooie, who doesn't love Canary Mary? 8D....XD

    And yes. Definitely. Shhhh....

  • @smbz1

    Fighting games?

  • @MaximumKOF

Well, bosses have a set amount of health that you have to take down through an assortment of moves so...yeah, I guess it is a fighting game in a way.

  • @smbz1

In that perspective, I can see where similarities might start.

  • @smbz1 what about RPG? :3

  • @XarynLucifer You guys just want to test me, huh? xD

Let's see..RPG's have a wide variety of enemies, and how challenging they are, i.e. how many hits they can take. Though B-T doesn't have any real health meter, you could measure it by how many hits something takes. And RPG's also have many upgrades as well, so you could think of the old move replacements, and eggs as those upgrades.

  • @smbz1 oh ho ho. Heres one. Strategy >:)

  • @XarynLucifer

Have you PLAYED the game? Grunty Industries, 'nuff said. xD

  • @smbz1 touchè umm... how about....uuuuuuuh

  • @smbz1 Still waiting for a Banjo fighting game :]

  • @SabotageThePyro

You mean you don't think the Hag 1 was enough of a fight? o-o

  • @smbz1 Hardly. Well back in 2000 it was a tough one, and still sortof is, but now it's a breeze... I'm one of those gamers always longing for a more challenging battle :)

  • @SabotageThePyro

Eh, I guess I gotta agree with you. It was one hell of a battle back when it was still new, probably because none of us were really expecting it to go into first person. But even still, completing this game 100% is a real challenge when ya think about it.

  • @smbz1 JRPG?

  • @Minwu325

Technically, all games have somewhat of an RPG element to them.

...And you people stop testing me with the whole every genre thing! D8

  • @smbz1 Your list is incomplete. I can name three genres off the top of my head.

MMO, (PC) Action, RPG, RTRPG, MMORPG, (PC) RTS.

  • @CorruptedVenom

...Every BASIC genre of video games then. Mr. Smarty Pants. >->

  • @CorruptedVenom

How would a Banjo-Kazooie MMO work? We just go around the Isle 'o Hags, attacking other people Mario Bros. Arcade style, you drop a Jiggy you had whenever you get hit, and the person with the most jiggies at the end wins?

    I'd fund it, mitebcool.

  • @smbz1 OUTDID? They were just getting warmed up. (that is of course until Nintendo was like U LEAF NOWZ!!!!)

  • @tconman31

    I still await for my Banjo-Threeie ;-;

  • @smbz1 Ya, it WAS going to be for the Game Cube, but as we know, the whole disbaning thing went down. I wish it would have happened though. I have heard that it was going to come out on the same day as kirby's air ride, wich would have been epic! (Kirby's air ride being my most loved game of all time)

  • @smbz1 what about RPG????? ya answer me that

  • @Pokeworld24

Technically, every game has somewhat of an RPG element. Such as life for enemies/bosses, upgrades to old powers, ect.

  • @smbz1

they missed sports, rpg, and shootem-up

  • @randomname071

The game has plenty of RPG elements, plenty of shooting segments, and..Racing can be considered a sport, no? I believe so.

  • @smbz1

They've done first person shooting, but i don't think they've done a shootem up. Hey, idk, this ain't my thing, zelda is my thing but if someone can remind me of a shootem up part cuz I honestly can't remember.

  • @smbz1

btw, RPG's didn't introduce boss health OR upgrades to old powers.

Both can be traced back to arcade shootem up games. Phoenix was (I think) the first arcade game to feature an end level boss which took more than one shot.

Galaga was one of the earliest examples of upgrades, you could upgrade your ship to greater size and fire more than one bullet. You could even argue that a power pellet is an upgrade to pacman's eating ability.

  • @randomname071

Eh, I stand corrected then. I'm not a Video Game Professor in a local college or anything. xD

Though I guess my argument for B-T was that Rare implemented many gaming genres into one, near flawlessly.

  • @smbz1

    Every genre BUT RPG.

  • @smbz1 You forgot how it DOESNT include TPS (thirdperson shooter)

and since when did banjo tooie include first person shooter?

  • @Greenday2004

Okay, so it doesn't include TPS, ya got me there. But have you played the game at all? It was one of the most major aspects of the game. Including the final boss battle.

  • @smbz1 ITS DOESNT INCLUDE FPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SEEN IT BEFORE, IT DOESNT! BANJO ONLY SHOOTS FREAKIN LIKE COCONUTS!!!!

  • @Greenday2004

Dang, rage much? What would you call the segments where Banjo uses Kazooie as a gun then, hm? By the way, they're not coconuts, they're eggs. And since when did it matter what the ammunition is that is used? It's a cartoon game series. Are you seriously this upset over a simple comment? Do me a favor, and get off of your period before you reply back.

  • @smbz1 It was a fucking comment mister 500 characters cunt fuckster.

  • @Greenday2004

Umad bro? I think umad. Umad?

  • @smbz1 !!! Your are a god damn idiot.

  • @Greenday2004

Says the one who just said I possess a "your a god damn idiot.". Learn how to not make a fool of yourself before insulting intelligence.

  • @smbz1 They done many, but they didn't covered the Racing type.

  • @DarkestDion

    Canary Mary races.

  • @smbz1 Darn, I forgot that part... lol

  • @smbz1

Now that I think about it, I think they also missed:

    Hack and slash

    RTS

Racing (Canary Mary race does NOT count, because the racing genre would require it include customization of a vehicle, or at the very least more than one vehicle/speed advantage)

    Side-scrolling bullet hell

    Sandbox

They actually missed quite a few. But, this is just my geek OCD talking :P

  • @randomname071

They also forgot the one where I murder ya for proving me wrong! D:<

Hahaha, only kidding. I was stretching it by saying every genre. But hey, they included more than most games do. If only little bits and pieces, even, seeing as you don't count Canary Mary as a race, at least it's somewhat like one. But I digress. xD

  • I love the trumpets in the first 3 seconds

how do you make that sound in acid music studio?

  • you don't. it's impossible

  • N&B is crap compared to the other 2 GODS! thanks microsoft for stabbing banjo and all the other characters in the heart with a CHAINSAW!! :(

  • that sound painful

  • @ugovaria its very painful! both for the characters and the people who were forced to watch them all die at the hands of microsoft! :'(

  • @banjotenie - Alas. Microsoft: the Sephiroth to Banjo-Kazooie's Aeris.

  • @banjotenie they could come back

  • @banjotenie ya know my friend and i were thinking that if we were rich, we could buy rare from microsoft, and sell rare back to nentendo, but thats just a dream, 'sigh' but anyway if that was to come ture, whod think that would be an awesome idea?

  • re pachangaaa

  • First time we do it, this battle is almost a "Zelda battle". We know how it goes overtime and we fail sometimes. Then we do a perfect round and Grunty is no more than a skull with one eye.

  • i never beat her with out the max out egg cheat, the eggs sometimes respawn slow and sometimes not at all

  • This game really pushed the N64's limits. Good job Rare! You made yet another kick ass game!

  • dk 64 was good too

  • Hag 1 on replay mode spells two words: Commit and Suicide.

  • tell me about it. I would get pretty damn close to beating her in that mode and then I'd lose it at the very end against her super spells. itd always piss me off, I die at the same exact part every time!

  • This was the first game I ever played, IT WAS THE SHIT!

  • i think its funny that Grunty says that the next banjo would be Banjo Threeie... but no... we get N&B...

  • yeah, thats because before they started making banjo threeie, nintendo made the worst mistake in the world.... nintendo sold rare to microsoft and now its all crappy on the X-box... they just look so wrong, except kazooie. the box art for threeie is on google images, its real

  • yo dumbass nuts and bolts was ALREADY developed by rare, gameplay and all. All microsoft did was polish the graphics up and convert it for xbox.

  • Nintendo didn't sold Rareware

Rareware sold it self to Xbox :S

  • Xbox = The new devil

  • Yeah, Nintendo would have never let them go to Microsoft if it'd been up to them. Rareware was probably their most valuable third party developer at the time.

  • @Goatmon

Nintendo owned 49% of Rare. Microsoft bought it to 100% That's why I hate now Microsoft. I hate their philosophy. I feel like they are always trying to get the monopoly and the money and now kill every company to be among others. I hope Apple will kill the company. Too much hegemony from MS.

  • @Zenithprod 49% is how it should have stayed, because then, maybe nuts and bolts would have been better then it is?

  • @thepinkblob

funny cause even on the 360 version of tooie she still says on the end wait for banjo threeie and it was released after nuts and bolts so could this mean rare has another banjo game in mind?

  • i dont no y but when i faced her on the n64 replay mode: fucking hard as hell

then i got B-T for the 360 which i heard is harder since the bird handling mode is in turok and the aimer goes back fast to default

but i could now beat grunty in replay mode over and over now

  • You can hear Grunty's original theme at 1:06

  • I bet this fight would be a little easy if you know how to sidestep. Theres two ways 1Hold the left or right c buttons to sidestep, she shouldn't be able to hurt you. 2 Hold the R button to aim and when she fires a spell press and hold r or l to take a step sideways.

  • NEW QUESTION why does rare have to be owned by anyone why cant they just make games and then release them on whatever systems they want

  • cause i think they dont own any consoles to release their games on

    im not so sure

  • @Bowserslave they have x360 devkits as well as NDS dev kits

what would lei in the basement of RARE hq?

  • @exranio I Dunno

  • @exranio They get more money if Microsoft owns them

  • @exranio Every developper needs an editor. It's somewhat similar to comics: You can draw anything you wish, be talented and shit, you still need a publisher to put you on the rails.

And of course, as a publisher, Microsoft has the right to say no to some stuff, which resulted here in Conker Live & "Uncut". Trust me, without Microsoft, Rare would have shut down.

  • @SabotageThePyro

little late to answer that man I've been known for a while

  • @exranio I don't think they had the financial power to do so back when they were independent.

  • Nuts and Bolts was a great game on it's own, I'll say, but it's definately a horrible sequal. It didn't follow the tradition of Platforming...

  • I am trying to save so I can get a XBox 360, so I can play this game and Banjo Kazooie just like old times.

  • Trying to beat hag 1 on replay mode is a good way to waste an entire day.

  • i think that nuts n bolts is a good game BUT its to different to be a sequel more like a spin-off

i think most people hate because its different a not because its genuinely bad

xplay put on their top ten worst sequel list while still acknowledging it as a good game

  • I never knew about the xplay part. Thank you.

  • It's not a bad game, it's just not a Banjo game people wanted.

  • XPlay sucks.

  • the grunty theme in banjo kazooie was better

  • cause here she is in a machine

  • MAN I so want this to come out in the virtual console on the wii till then ill stick with my nintendo 64

  • It's on Xbox Live Arcade now!

  • Nintendo can't put it on Virtual Console, they don't own Rare anymore.

  • Sad, but true.

  • it dosent suck.. its just epic and long like the first one...so therethe same :p

  • See, there you go.

  • Fucking hell, Ive got the game I dont like it either its shit. let him say his opinion if he wants too. N&B has totally ruined the B&K series anyway

  • his point is, if you really didn't care you wouldn't have bothered to make the comment advising against purdruid's buying it.

  • If you didn't give a fuck what we bought, you wouldn't reccomend what we buy

    (KILLED BY LOGIC, ANYONE?)

  • Every time the weps changed I was like OH GOD WHAT NOW?!

  • You quit whining right now mister

It's a different game sure, but it sure as hell is good and you don't make a damn bit of difference by saying it sucks

  • Ahh brings back so many memories, gettin nuts and bolts soon :D

  • replay mode is 10x harder to fight her than regularly in the game i'd hate that right like in the middle of fighting she has time to get out of the machine and give u a quiz that's be the perfecttime to hit her with a egg

  • she was too easy... replay mode 0_o evil

  • I can't wait for this to come out on the xbla.

  • This is so mechanical and menacing.

  • my favorite part 1:07

  • Awesome cool Fantastic song! 5 stars Thanks for the upload!

  • Are you kidding Rock1Golem? The Hag 1 is on MY list of hardest bosses ever in a videogame: and it's #2!

  • yep. VERY HARD BOSS.

  • i thought the factory boss is the hardest.

  • i can agree with you on that one, she freaking hard as hell, i died so many times tring to beat her.

  • my favorite part of this song is 0:58 to 1:29

  • to this day, this boss still makes me nervous when I reach the end of Tooie...out of all bosses I've fought since starting video games as a kid, this one still gets me nervous, even if it is much easier now that I'm older

  • I found the hag 1 quite easy. With the exception of blowing up the batteries, that was a little more difficult, but I didn't have, tooo much trouble with it.Love the music, so I used to toy with her a little, beating up many waves of minions.

  • hag 2.0 harder than hag 1 boss.....oh crap

  • Y'know what would've been cool? If Grunty used the Hag 1 in Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts.

  • it'd probably be the HAG 2, then. =P

  • one of the hardest bosses i have ever met

  • What's weird to me is that half of the people commenting on how hard she is to beat, would probably own at games like Gears of War or Final Fantasy....in which case, I suck at. But to me, every Banjo game so far has been cake. Guess it's just a change in brainwaves lol.

  • one of the most epic themes in video game history
