THat what my parrot dose he loves them but when he want a bath he will get the water in his pots and like clean his self but we end up getting the water bottle spray
Oh by the way - my mom is thinking about buying a scarlet macaw like that one - what does yours usually eat? Does he just eat plain seeds & dry corn (like what's found in commercial bird foods), or does he prefer fresh fruits & vegetables?
Wow, I always thought most birds didn't like water, but yours seems to love it. I also thought the water would weigh them down so much that they couldn't fly. Shows how much I know about birds. :D
lol my parakeet loves to jump in his water dish when i change it. the only problem is that he makes sure that everything around him gets wet(including his owner who is standing 4 inches away lol)
My Patagonian conure Never liked the spray bottle or being held under the shower like the guy I got him from showed me Then I bought him his own shower perch Now Lucas makes a FUSS if he can't shower on his own perch He doesn't get the direct spray just indirect splashings. He clearly enjoys it. His Dr says his ears have cleared up & are the healthist they've ever been. Now I feel bad for all those years (13 years in June) he didn't have his own perch & had congested ears.
It's just great when they finally take to getting a shower or bath. It's wonderful that Lucas's ears have cleared up from it. (: Don't feel so bad as sometimes with birds it takes a long time to figure out what they like and don't like. We sure are finding that out.
There are a few in our house that haven't come to appreciate a good wetting down yet. Misty came through after a long time of watching the others have fun. Cody will stick his feet in his water dish and Dawn although we give her showers she does not enjoy them like other cockatoos I've seen, but then she is an unusual bird. Kaylee our little timneh is still a long way from liking a spritz or bath but with time and patience I'm sure she will join in the fun of showertime.
Alex is really getting into getting wet! Pepe like a nice soaking down in the shower, on his perch. The moans he makes are enought to make you wonder what is going on in the bathroom!

Showers rule! We smell bad afterwards when we are wet, but after our feathers dry, we are beautiful and soft, and smell clean!

Most of the Greys I have known, loved water. In fact, I don't know of any parrot that didn't like a good wetting down on a regular basis.
