  • Powerful wonderful music

  • Thumbs up if you know this from Bugs Bunny (the original cartoons)

  • I know the "classical-music-nerds" (i'm saying this in a sweet way, I'm a rock music nerd myself) will hate me but this is so Tom & Jerry.

I loved those cartoons when they played the piano or they directed some orchestra or something. I loved the music behind it, maybe this is why I got here in the first place... this brings back so many memories, you know...!

  • meraviglia del mondo...

  • Chiamasi orgoglio Italiano e per me anche marchigiano.

  • música dei italianni, alegre e giocosa, festiva e amorosa!!!

  • 2:15 Alec Baldwin.

  • 5:50 WTF this picture?

  • I love x2 speed!

  • I feel like conquering lands with this piece!!

  • even though I play the violin and therefore listen to classical music, i only got here thanks to Bugs Bunny xD

  • I've always liked this song ever since I was very young. I'm glad that my mother introduced me to classical music all those years ago!

  • bragi! quick! use storm gust!

  • I'm happy now, and I didn't need to take LSD to be so... Wonderful.

  • 2:06 when I hear this part, I think of bugs bunny

  • Haha my orchestra class is playing this... not nearly as fast though!

  • when was this recorded?

  • WHERE IS PIU MOSSO???

  • Oh, wait 'till I get that wabbit!

What would you want with a wabbit?

Can't you see that I'm much sweeta!

    I'm your little senorita...

  • Please check out my digital rendition of this wonderful overture, thank you.

  • bugs bunny :D

  • 5:01 anyone remembering this being a motorola ringtone?

  • Does anyone know the classical song that played in the 1946 Tom and Jerry Cartoon 'Springtime for thomas".

  • brilliant

  • this makes doing your homework EPIC

  • Eargasm

  • I think it's so unnecessary to compare music styles or era's with each other, because they are simply wholly different! I like this kind of music, I like indie, I like dupstep and I like pop music. Let's all start being less discriminative for different kinds of music. Thank you!

  • Amerian people are foolish, Dio can.

  • @MrDubluff te ghe rason! cerca gaber america su youtube e vedrai!

  • tell it to our children they will not believe you

  • 0:00

  • I wonder why my school is marching to this.....

  • @brownpeopleftw22 because it's fucking awesome, that's why.

  • @sergiobantam that is because we are european and they are not. either they have studeied a lot (like in big symphony orchestras) or they have no idea what they are speakng about!!!

  • @dede4metal

    Thank you brother!

Many and many winters pass before humanity begins to recognize the true art.

I'm Brazilian, but I love classical music, something that has no cost and anyone can achieve.

    Hugs!

  • w00t - Tom and Jerry!

  • GLORIOSO!!!!

  • BUGS BUNNY!!!

  • I can't get Bugs Bunny out of my head! :D :D Its part of my childhood. Its will never leave me :D :D

  • I can't stop to think in Vadrum playing that!

  • @Studiobesouro Me too!!

  • Magnifico.

  • There, you're nice and clean, although your face looks like it may have gone through a machine.

  • 4:05 Was that dude on a Segway?

  • 2:08 <3

  • @cKatherine029 agreed! :)

  • Could you kindly identify the performers? Orchestra, conductor, Opera company if possible.

I find this to be a very stylish and fine performance.

    thank you

  • One of maestro Rossini's finest!

  • @marelbijveld why wasn't I surprised when I saw your profile.

  • che incompetenti e buzzurri questi - thats english men (j think americans) che pensano e commentano solo in funzione di Bugs Bunny

  • @plastica0585

e fattela una risata ogni tanto

  • 3:08 Kate Winslet

    3:13 Kirsten Dunst

4:41 Dustin Hoffman meets Jason Isaacs

  • Best Rossini's opera ouverture.

La migliore ouverture di un'opera di Rossini.

  • This music is awesome. Long live European culture!

  • Too slow at 6:39.

  • @greenpurplebluewhite

Right, it's too slow, but I do not see better version here on youtube. :-(

  • ... The music enters the ear, through the pores ... and touches the heart and soul hits .. excuse me .... but I'm crying like a child to be listening as majestic work by Rossini ...!!! ..

... The music enters the ear, through the pores ... and touches the heart and soul hits .. excuse me .... but I'm crying like a child to be listening as majestic work by Rossini ...!!! ..

  • really, i have to listen to for my YOUTH orchestra that I'm a part of so whoever said that young people aren't interested in classical music is wrong, because I've played since I was FOUR, ok?

  • This would have been enough to make him immortal. LOVE Rossini!

  • thank god mom listen to this when i was a baby, I've was inadvertently addicted to classical for 16 years now.

  • but we should still respect their opinions, and BTW, many of my friends join bands or anything that has got to do with music so they can get to play and listen to classical songs, so the people who claim that young adults do not appreciate/enjoy classical music is wrong.

  • ok we can say, nowadays, it's garbage what we hear but excuse me, the people who say that, they are the same who go to Macdo or not? come on, be relevant and logical in your opinion.

  • @PatriceauQuebec i agree with u. one can listens and enjoys many kinds of music.

  • 0:12 Youu are next. You'ree so next.

  • i pressed REPLAY like 5 times today lol

  • Wonderful

  • magnifique composition de Rossini, fantastique!

  • 4:20 : ))

  • I can´t see Bugs!

  • this song is from BRUNO

  • I always think of bugs bunny when i hear this

  • @GMISTERSK Obviously it reflects your standard of education......

  • @petrolukas: Why cast aspersions? "Rabbit of Seville" IS considered one of the all time greats in animation. I'm in my mid 40s...love classical music to the tune (no pun intended) of over 600 CDs and 62 GB worth...and this overture will always bring to mind "Rabbit of Seville." Think, sir, before you jump to conclusions. :)

  • I used to fall asleep to this kind of music. I remember waking up in the middle of the night and being afraid of the music. What can I say? I was like five to eight years old. I love this music. It brings back memories for me. :D

  • The oboist is so good :)

  • Wonderful Thanks for posting

  • lol "Welcome to my shop. Let me cut your mop. Let me shave your crop...Daintily, daintily... Hey, you! Don't look so perplexed, why must you be vexed? Can't you see you're next? Yes, you're next, you're so next!" Love bugs bunny.

  • bravo

  • I love this song!

    It was featured in Fellini's 8 1/2

  • Playing this on the piano is EPIC!!!

  • what does it do with killing things

its nothing to do with killing things

  • Ah, gl' Italiani, gl' Italiani...

  • @aristophron mmhh.. yes? XD

  • It's truly a shame the old Warner Bros and Walter Lanz cartoons aren't shown on TV any more. I learned a lot of classical pieces and enjoyed the cartoons, back in the 50's. ;-) Now, it's killing, blowing things up and no true storyline or anything funny. Our kids and grandchildren are truly missing out on an "education" and appreciation of good music.

  • Despite the fact that those cartoons have very racist undertones, I enjoy some of them too to a certain extent (for light hearted entertainment and a flashback to my childhood) but because of the racist undertones I don't think I can agree with you on the "education" aspect of those shows.

Plus, they are still on tv if you have cable :)

  • 2:06

The only thing that comes to mind is Bugs Bunny making a salad on top of Elmer Fudd's head. LOL!

  • hahahahahaha thats true :)

  • Oooh where are you Mista Wabbit? Where is dat wabbit?

  • bugs bunny is what comes to mind as well but this is a beautiful song thou

  • I will forever think of Bugs Bunny when I hear this :P

  • AMEN!

  • That's funny. Me too.

"Let me trim your crop... Let me cut your top"... Hilarious.

  • also woody the woodpecker and tom&jerry ;)

  • Tom and Jerry! This piece was used when Tom was going to run over Jerry with the train, only to be saved by the yellow bird who drops the bowling ball through the floor.

I am so glad I grew up watching cartoons with classical pieces. It's the reason why I love this music today.

  • @peterfett

I never thought of it that way but it makes perfect sense... I hope There'll be something for my kids to watch growing up besides Hannah Montana crap.

  • @pehesch So do I :D

  • @pehesch DUDE!!!

was that the one where bugs is avoiding some lady with a horn helmet? (last time i saw the toon was more than ten years ago so forgive me if i am wrong)

  • @EternalCrappyKid , Search for "Bunny of Seville" for the cartoon

  • @pehesch my husband said the same

  • @pehesch lol but so true :))

  • @pehesch read the synopsis of The Barber of Seville play, you might loose that associaton

  • @pehesch

  • @pehesch I totaly agree with you!

  • @pehesch cartoons is how many people got to know about classical music and I must confess I too am one of them

  • @truvianni loney tunes lol

  • This overture version is one of the best I have ever heard.

    Bravo Maestro and Orchestra !!!!!!!!

Anyone who knows anything about it

  • classical music rocks! 1000 times better than the garbage we hear on mtv these days.

  • PS: Im in the age demographic thats suppose to be lapping up all the crap that passes for music these days.

  • haha, I love your picture.

  • believe or not he is one of the most corrupt men even at the ripe old at of 90

  • Lol, I dont even know who it is.

  • @oyePhoker well-put. Its so unfortunate that most people on our age - young adults I should say - do not recognize the subtle beauty and massive emotions classical music can bring.. in the words of salieri; its gods' language !

  • @oyePhoker -you should really consider expanding your music tastes like me :D

  • @oyePhoker I'm sure there is some irony in saying classical music "rocks" , and "rock" is garbage . I completely agree though.

  • @oyePhoker Not always. But everybody has their own opinion. Sometimes, the music we hear on "mtv these days" is really good. other times, it is garbage. sometimes, i wanna rip my hair out from classical music, other times, its very good. it all depends. :)

  • @oyePhoker

    MTV plays music!?

  • @oyePhoker Or maybe it's preference and different tastes? I don't know...

  • @oyePhoker more like, classical music classics :D

  • @oyePhoker lol since when do you hear music on MTV?

  • @oyePhoker We don't hear music on mtv anymore....

  • @oyePhoker , I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT., NO DOUBT 'BOUT IT. 'CAUSE IN MY EARLY TEENS OF THE SIXTIES I REALLY ENJOYED IT. BUT, NOW IN THIS ERA , IN THIS 21TH CENTURY, MUSIC IN THESE DAYS ARE TO ME SAD.

  • Thanks guys for backing up my argument with Blitzer890.

    I appreciate it :-)

  • I read that the first performance of the Barber was a disaster because all the supporters of Paisello turned up to boo.

What I've never quite understood is why even they weren't quite simply blown away by the brilliance of Rossini's music-particularly in comparison with Paisello's?

  • Blitzer,

That's neat. However, I'll submit that I like both this music here... AND Cannibal Corpse.

Hooray for the close-minded metalhead... and that might be generous given that you chose to cite the most commonplace of all death metal bands.

  • To Blitzer980, I have one word in response to you're comment: Mozart.

  • I know this piece from "Breaking Away" during the bike vs. truck race.

  • Try playing this on the organ. :-)

  • Wow a whole 15 seconds, you sure put a lot of effort into THAT. How on earth did you manage?

By the way, if this is the type of stuff your father listened to he has good taste, I wish I could say the same for his idiotic impatient son.

  • I take it that your father is over 100 years old seeing as how this is from his age...And you are sadly mistaken Rossini has great emotion in his music, just ask the other millions of people who love his work.

  • *Blitzer890*

Haha, you come to this video and talk like you have musical knowledge! Next time you say something like that about a genre of music this amazing, just stop and consider that educated musicians like this genre, instead of that drivel that you listen to.

You said that it has no place in our culture. It has a VERY big place in our culture, maybe not yours however!

Oh, and by the way, if this was your father's type of music, tell your father that he has great taste!

  • I just listened to 'Make Them Suffer' and I hope that my ears will never have to endure anything like that again!

    Guitars- Too loud and distorted

    Drums- Too loud and overpowering

    Bass- Couldn't hear it

    Vocals- Couldn't (and didn't) sing!

Moral- People dying and suffering, hmm, that's nice.

I think that we have different tastes and we should just agree to disagree.

    Thanks

PS, Can I just say that I think that when guitars, drums, bass and vocals are played well, they can sound amazing too.

  • Blitzer890: metal or any other form of rock music is based off the principles of classical music. so if ur dissing this then ur also putting down any other form of music. there are many metal bands that take melodies from various classical pieces and incorporates them into their songs. u probably dont realize that

  • ur weird dude, i like that stuff too but you can't even come talking like that even compares to this artistic genius. Make them suffer? you just compared make them suffer to the barber of seville???? are u nuts?? if this doesn't move u on some deeper level than cannibal corpse than you are without depth at all. Make them suffer is a sick tune for that kind of mood, this shit is universal and dont forget it.

  • @betterthansex123

You think this is genius? I'm not saying it isn't, but listen to Rachmaninoff, Mahler, and Dvorak then compare that to this.

  • Comment removed

  • this is one of my favorite classical pieces of all time.

    blitzer890 is a moron.

  • Wow! You're kidding me?! Electric guitars is "what stuff we should scrap"!

  • ur kinda wrong that this has no place in our culture. i cant think of one movie that hasnt used classical music in their background. all the cartoons that u once watched as a child uses classical music. electric guitars are based off of classical guitars.

ps. im 17 and i dont listen mainly to electric guitars. i enjoy listening to rock, rap, country etc.

  • @Blitzer890

Especially not for people who spend years in college to get ready to play this.

  • I agree with you.

  • All I can think of is Bugs Bunny singing to this XD

  • haa same :P

  • who knows the music of the trailer of the film bruno with "sacha baron cohen?

  • This is that music!

  • *Rindra59*

The music from the bruno trailer is at 2:07

  • yep I agree about 2:07

Powerful and self-confidence, just like the barber himself :D

  • Who doesn't like this??????

    Thank you so much!

  • Comment removed

  • 2:07 makes this piece.

  • great piece. my high school orchestra is playing this and i wish we sounded half this good.

  • us too...:(

  • Esta abertura é... fenomenal(-mente alegre)! :-)

  • God, this piece is great! C: Playing this in a full orchestra, and we're not quite there yet, but it's getting there... xDD

    Thanks for the upload! C:

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Get's great at 2:07. (that's where it reminds me of The Incredible Toon Machine)

  • Thanks to Bugs Bunny, I have love for classical music and Italian operas.

  • jajajajaj

    where is the rabbit!!!

    where is the rabbit!!!

  • LOL, I was thinking the same thing. I can't listen to Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" without singing "Kill the wabbit! Kill the wabbit! Kill the wabbit!" in my head. :-)

  • 2:09 definitely one of my favourites

  • Sencillamente hermoso

  • Part of the orchestra at my school was playing this. I must say that it sounded almost as good (seeing as they recently got it) but I do go to an arts school so they are expected to be amazing.

On another note, I love this piece!!!!

  • this is excellent!

  • i saw roseville high school orchestrra do this and they were AMAZING!

    great job to them :)

  • Me three

  • I love this song!!!!!

  • as in alright, funny, cool, u no

  • OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

    AT 2 MINTUES!!

I have been looking for this song for 1 year. I'm totally serious. I had a bet going on with my friend to find out who conducted this piece of music!!! FINALLY after ONE YEAR I WON THE BET!!!!!!!! :)

  • @BrunetteGoddess23 is it that hard lmao

  • 4:00
