  • Good to see lots of close racing. i'm in Wainwright Alberta and i'm currently building a tractor now for the 2012 season

  • wow i remember seeing the push mower at sask place once when i was younger! i think it was 05 or maybe it was 06 also i live in melfort so i saw them at the fair there too. they are awesome to watch and i have thought about building one myself.

  • dude, sick.......

  • lol, sounds great

  • ill get a video of my 11 horse i put a side exaust

  • @nikky66070 Cool :)

  • Orion it's very good ..

  • I'm building one right now, Is it ok to have a stiff front axle or should I allow it to sway left and right? I'm worried that too much sway in the front end will allow it to roll over too easily. Or am I wrong?

  • @ohgrx We usually lock that pivot up so that the steering has more effect on the chassis.

  • @ 1:55 i have the same one with four wheeler tires on the back too haha! rear mount tractors are badass go carts in disguise!.

  • awesome love that last pic of the john deere in the sky!!

  • Bahaha x3 7:59 guy flying backwards off his lawnmower.

  • freakin awesome. i have a murray select all apart that i bought for $30 total but its only a 2003 model so its not build as well as the oldies. thats what mods are for! hopefully when i get the money ill build it. do the stock trannies hold up well? any mods to them?

  • @bobchessy The peerless 700 in a 5 or 6 speed holds up quite well without any mods if your engine isn't modified too much.

  • thats all? cool thx man. but an engine is really expensive. i will try with the old 1 first ;)

  • hello, i have a question. i also have an lownmower in my back yard. but it's only 5 HP

how do i make it faster?

  • @keanu069 Put a bigger pulley on the engine crankshaft and a smaller one on the transmission.

  • @keanu069 Search for lawn mower faster, there's some good videos on here.

  • at 6:49 thats sweet az and 7:01

  • at 649 thats sweet az

  • At 2:43, what is the brand/model of that blue tractor?

  • @dquad I'm not sure. It belonged to one of the guys we raced with and I never really paid attention, sorry.

  • Allis chalmers best racing lawn tractor I've ever seen!!!!!! (how much did those tires cost?)

  • @Awesome25ification Thanks. We got those tires in a scrap yard, I think we paid $40 or $50.

  • looks like much fun

  • really like the one at 5:33

  • @SaskLongboarding Yeah that one was sweet. It was my brothers'.

  • i also live in sask and im wondering how much money it is to make an alright one or how much u'd sell one for?

  • @SaskLongboarding If you already have a mower, you could spend about $200 and make a decent one. We've kind of slowed down in it. There was only one race we heard of in Sask. this year in Kindersley.

  • i watched your first race

  • @SaskLongboarding Cool, I don't think we even finished a race the first time out.

  • around how much is a decn't used front engine tractor

  • @pumkinchunkin Sometimes you can find them for free, but usually anywhere up to $100.

  • @pumkinchunkin I don't know where wertheroriginal lives, but usually you can get them anywhere from $250 to $400, on average here in Maine. That's if it runs decent or good. You can get lucky if you search hard enough or deal with the right people to get one dirt cheap. Ex: I got my mower frame for free (were going to junk it), was given an 8hp B&S engine because the guy had no use for it, paid $35.00 on 4 "new" tires and an old 2 speed transmission from a very nice guy I found on craigslist com

  • i was wondering if you knew how to fix my front tire on my mower cause its all cocked out and on top where the stearing rod connects to it there is a big gap so what should i do

  • can kids do it

  • @georgejelfs67 I built my first one when I was 14, but my cousin was a few years younger when he started.

  • 3:32 bad ass

  • you should make a new vid

  • thanks

  • how did yous make the rear wheel bagger

  • @deaucey The frame is 1"x1"x1/8" square tubing and we just set that push mower deck over top, cut a hole for the engine to stick through and welded some tabs on to bolt it down. It has a centrifugal clutch and a jack-shaft to get the gear ratio we wanted.

  • lol at 0:51

  • how do you lower the tractors

  • @318dodgeN350camaro Cut and weld I guess. Build a new steering axle and change the position of the rear axle bearings.

  • Nice video .

    Ive got a 89-90 Lawnflite.

But the model nr and code are gone.

Do you know a way to find out what type it is?

    Thanks

  • @CorsaAGSi Your tractor looks in quite good shape. It seems odd that the numbers would be gone, they're usually under the seat. I don't really know of a way other than find another one just like it and get those numbers.

  • @wertheroriginal OK ill try.

    thanks for the reply.

Figured you might had one like this, you musta had a bunch of them over the years.

  • @wertheroriginal

Im actually making it a bit more mine.

Lowering the hood, paint flatblack with green ore red dont know yet.

Might wanna put a lil car sterio in,i got laying around.

Keeps me of the street eeeh

Cleaned the valves and carb .etc

Ill post a new video of it soon.

Where you get your parts? And where in Canada are you?

  • @CorsaAGSi Saskatoon i see.

    Im from NB

  • @CorsaAGSi I'm by Saskatoon Sask. I don't usually buy many oem parts, just use used parts or make them from princess auto stuff.

  • nice, i live not to far from you

  • i love the rear bagger!!

  • shure i want to go to your backyard! (Y) :)

  • where did you get those clutch systems from are they just old snowmobile clutches or what?

  • @GearHead1625 On that red front engine mtd we tried using the stock variable pulley system. We flipped it up to use on a horizontal shaft engine. It worked but not all that great. The other tractors just used a belt and idler pulley system.

  • is that thing got a two stroke bike engine on it at 4:13?

  • @RocklandRednecks It's a two stroke tecumseh from a push mower. I just put the pipe from a Yamaha 125 cause it ran better.

  • LOL at 8:01

  • hey were do you buy those sprockets i need a special one made for my oddysey

  • If you're in Canada then Princess Auto, Bearing and Transmission.

  • @wertheroriginal best fucking store ever what city u from?

  • @TheHondaAbuser Saskatoon.

  • first time i seen a flat head honda engine

  • Yeah it has points in the ignition too. That surprised me.

  • We only went to one in Kindersley. There was one in White Bear we missed but there could have been more. A lot of times there's just a local bunch of friends who put on a little race at their town fair days.

  • were cna i buy a high performce cam at?

  • dude im canadian to and im thinking about gettin into racin

  • What part of Canada are you in?

  • Hey, do you guys race in Australia, or in the UK?

  • We race in Canada. You Race?

  • I don't yet, I am getting into the sport, I'm looking for my first lawn mower. At first I wanted a murray with a engine in back, but one of the youtubers, told me to get something else, what do you think. The mower looks like what you guys race, but is not custom, also I want to race in the USLMRA, which certain rules need to be followed.

  • im trying to Race ,how much money did it take to build the first red on and how fast did it go??

  • The first one cost about $500, it went about 28 mph. I was fortunate to get the 8 hp Honda for $200.

  • how can u make a racing lawn mower with a vertical shaft engine? do u need a special transmission?

  • With tools lol

  • I could absolutely get into this O.O

  • yall look like yall are having fun

  • just to get in for free lol

  • orion! Look up the cover of this song by mastodon. dude sweet vid. hell i was on davidsfarm and just came across this.

  • I like the one with the knobby ATV tires. they must be a nice advantage.

  • His only advantage was that he took up the whole track and was hard to pass. He had a hard time steering too.

  • dude i love your vids! ill have to show you how us albertans race out here! love your racers too!

  • We have been to Alberta twice,Burdette and Bow Island, and plan to go again.Where in Alberta do you race?

  • yeah ORION!!

  • i love the ac

  • One qustion how do u guys make ur tractors so low to the ground? I'm a 2nd year racer and would like to lower mine to make her handle a little better

  • do you still race

  • Yeah, we still race as often as we can, but there isn't very many racers around here yet.

  • I want to race one day... I have a riding mower I'm just trying to get the pulley off the transmission and then put a smaller one on

  • what does "sask" mean... were you on tv

  • Sask. is short for Saskatchewan, that's the province I live in. Yes we did have the local news do a short story at one race, they interviewed my brother.

  • i have the exact same one as that green one at the beginning lol it mint when it tips u up and dumps u haha

  • that orange one with the big wheels is sick

  • is it just me or rer lawn tractors look nothing like tractors lol

  • thats awsome we did that to!! lol good times, where you all from?

  • rofl, 9:05-06

  • 8:13 Lmao

  • what is a good size pulley to put on a vertical engine- 12 hp briggs... i have put a 4" on the tranny.. i believe the old one was either a 7 or 8".

  • From what I've read, with a 4" pulley on the tranny you could use a 7" or 8" pulley on the motor.

  • just whatever fits best (make sure your belt does not rub on anything or it WILL break trust me)

  • great song, orion by metallica =]

  • to much time on hands

  • you or me?

  • Dang that's fast!

  • How fast do the mowers go?

  • My fastest one goes about 45 mph, but most of the time our tracks are so short that we gear them down to about 25 mph.

  • what have you done with them???

  • Most of them we converted to horizontal shaft motors. We still use the belt and idler clutch system, but we got rid of the tranny and just have one gear. We build new front axles with go-kart style steering so there's only about half a turn on the steering wheel stop to stop.

  • lol i love that green tractor jump at the end

  • nice viddd

  • Good thing that we have friends in a newish sport like this.

  • Thanks.

  • u got a lot of nice racers there,

  • what elts could you do besides changing the pulies arround

  • i mounted a snowmobile engine on mine

  • you mounted a snowmobile engine it , lets see it

  • cool

  • I have a question how do you get them so low to the ground. I have a race tractor and am thinkin of branching out, so I need all the help I can get

  • what kind of engine?

  • Two of them have horizontal shaft 13hp Hondas',one has an 8hp Subaru/Robin. The Black rear engine one has an 8hp Briggs.

  • my buddy has an all stock craftsman twin i believe 18 horse that was gps'es at 60.2mph just by a pully change. He had to remove the clutch tho

  • I've seen some guys go up to 45 mph, but without tightening up the steering it could be pretty scary at that speed.

  • any pics of that riding push mower?

  • ahah you guys are nuts.

i have been trying to figure out how to make a tractor , and this is just inspiration.

if you guys could tell me what and how you do it that would be great!@

if you could send me a message that would be apprichiated

  • You could probably get it to go 45-50 mph if you geared it high enough, but it may not accelerate very fast unless you can shift the tranny on the fly. My Cub Cadet is geared to go about 25 mph, even if I start in 3rd gear it accelerates pretty fast.

  • It should be a good mower. I like the rear engine tractors.

  • im going to but one like in 2:20 and im going to try to make it race style

i know some of the parts that i have to take out

but do u do anything else??like new motor??

  • great video and great tractors...

  • That's awesome! where do you get all your parts, clutches and stuff?

  • Princess Auto, Bearing and Transmission,

  • Sweet... i'm going there, nice vid by the way.

  • About 30 to 40 mph.

  • watch ill bet ill grow up to be just like them!

  • Yeah, it was just a joke picture I was playin' with.

  • Sorry, I don't think I have the time to build for other people.

  • how do u fix the stering so it not so senstive??

  • I would get rid of that gear reduction thing in the steering linkage. I usually have my steering set up so the steering wheel only turns about a 1/4 turn each way. This actually makes it more sensitive.

  • weres do you live?

  • Saskatchewan, Canada.

  • soma these things are so sick

we got an old mower in the garage but it got no brakes

u inspired me to get some

  • hey nice tractores man i was wodering what kind of tires are on the back of the orange mower? thanks

  • I think the're from a small Ditch Witch. The're about 16 in. tall, 14 in. wide with a 6 in. rim.

  • cool thanks ima try to find some

  • Nice tractors....I especially loved and cried my eyes out laughing at the end with the jump over water....LOLOLOL

  • nice job on the mowers! check out mine (dans hot rod mower)

  • sick lawn mower video you rock !

  • where did you get the green lawn tractor!

  • If you mean the one that does those big wheelies, then we got it from a friend. It didn't have any engine, so we put an 8 hp Robin on with the same drive setup as the that first red one.

  • when you used the vari-drive sysytem in the red mtd i think.... what kind of belt did upi use??

  • please tell

  • I think my brother just welded some tubing on the ski mounting bracket that fit on his spindle shafts.

  • i like the one with the skis! how did you do that?

  • Yes.

  • so what kind of tires are on the orange mower... please tell i wat some.

  • Icedragon99115 figures the're from a small ditch witch, he's probably right. but I don't know where to get them.

  • looks like he has a lot of torque

    nice

    !!

  • The back part of the chassis was cut off and rebuilt with tubing to clear the wide tires and the front axle was built new with the spindle bolts placed so that the chassis was level

  • awesome.

  • Nice mower!

Visit Xtreme mowers for more help on supping up lawnmowers and learin all the tricks in the books on motors and evrything else!!

  • have you ever though of puting a led engine on one of thoes? or a bike engine?

  • someone should make a mower with full suspension

  • was just thinking of that myself

  • good to see someone running reer engine mowers other than mebut im running a 460cc kawaqsaki motr it likes to wheelie lol

  • wat motors do u guys run??

  • I like to use Honda. You pay a bit more, but you get a lot more to start out with.

  • Very cool I give u guys alot of credit building those I know what its like. takes alot of time and patience. nice work.

  • what did u do for a drive on those? i have a wheel horse that i would like to do something like that to. i live in ohio if u have ne advice plz tell me!!

  • cool u live around saskatoon? im from PA!

  • Yeah, just north of Saskatoon.

  • it's nice ,chek my lawn mower wheelie

  • How fast does ur first lawn mower racers go...im thinking of building one and i have a low HP engine about the same as urs and i was woundering how fast those things go

  • I don't know exactly, but I think it went about 25 or 30 mph.

  • where did you get those wide ass tires on that orange one

  • We found them in a farm equipment wrecking yard. We still don't know what the're from, but they have a 6 in. rim that's 14 in. wide.
