  • do you have to have component cables or could you just have a hdmi cable

  • @YouTwitFaceAG both support HD

  • I got the same 32' tv but it doesnt have Energy Star!!!! And you should have gotten a PS3 so it will fit better with the rest of the sony stuff.

  • @soyuz1991 Haha, I know but I didnt have the money, and now all of my games/memory are on 360

  • Thank you so much

  • @McNastyx360 your welcome

  • my xbox has hdmi port cable but the components cable is too big for it to fit in.....

  • @DjentTilDeath yes the component cable has a different port than the hdmi, but use the hdmi if you have it...its easier

  • what's the name of does cables not the hdmi but the componets

  • @TehMistified What do you mean by the name of the components

  • my tv doesnt have the component option for some reason it only has these:vga,ypbpr,av,s-video,tv,dvi,and ycbcr

  • @MrDarkone66 is the tv HD?

  • @kimosis004 well, it doesn't say hd anywhere on it, but i'm pretty sure it's hd since it has the connections for the component cable

  • @MrDarkone66 Oh okay, Im not sure what to do. Try every input, if there is more than one component connection try the other then try every input again. Sorry for lack of help.

  • @kimosis004 Also, is it a TV or a Monitor for a computer for example.

  • @kimosis004 i just found out that my "TV" is actually a Viewsonic 27" inch HD LCD TV monitor, can i still play games in 720p on it?

  • hello........ive got an xbox 360 slim and my tv is a samsung 42 inch ps42c450 plazma, think it might be a 720p it works both on 720p and 1080p but there are alot of dark areas, dont suppose you no why this is???its driving me mad lol

  • @landale100 Is the darkness on the actual screen or does it make any thing you watch darker. If the latter is true, then try adjusting the brightness(you've probably tried this but anyway) on the tv and the xbox and the game i know cod has in game brightness.

  • @kimosis004 thanks

  • @landale100 your welcome

  • Also when you see the system settings for the Xbox 360 and it shows you reference levels: Standard, Intermediate, Expanded. This option affects games and movies. Now my TV is a 1080p HDTV. What option should i take?

  • The cables don't work the picture seems to be the same i tried it on a xbox 360 and i don't know if theres anything wrong with them but my tv is at 60hz and i don't think it supports that but when i change the picture to 1080p it asked me if i want to change to 50hz and i put yes but it stays in 60hz for some reason do you know what i'm meant to do?

  • my xbox does not have those green and blue cables nor the switchh . . HELP ?

  • Also do ineed HDMI ?

  • i have a xbox arcade and it only comes with the components and the a.v thing does not have a switch . please help i play in REALLY shitty quality in my Vizio tv

  • @VeLoSnipinq Okay so

    1. You dont need an HDMI cable unless you have an HDMI port on your console(check to see if you have one)

    2. The quality is bad because your probably using AV Cables which don't support HD. So you probably need to buy some component cables, or an HDMI cable if you have the port.

That should fix the problem. :D

  • @kimosis004 I'm confused. The only open port in my xbox is this square-shaped one right next to the USB port in the back.

  • @maxter480 First, what xbox do you have? If its squared its probably for the Ethernet cable, which is for wired internet. Are you using WiFi? If its more of a flat trapezoidal/rectangle, then its probably HDMI.

  • @kimosis004 Actually, nevermind. I realized that the port was hidden under the giant-ass regular screen cords [yellow, red, and white only].

But I have another question. I just ordered the one that has 5 cords [Yel, Red, White, Blu, And Green]. On the back of my tv I have another row that has those 5 colors in order, do I move the new yellow red and white cords from where they were to the part where the blue and green are by it? [sorry if I'm confusing you

  • @maxter480 Yes, the ones you ordered are component cables. The row on your tv is (if you only have one row) "Component 1" on the input button. Red and White are for audio only. The yellow is video on AV(which is standard definition). The R, G, and B are video for Component (which supports HD). They should all be on the same row on the back of your TV. Take out, obviously, the old cable which only had Red, White and Yellow. Hope this helped, I know its harder to understand via text than video.

  • @kimosis004 No, I get what you mean. Thanks for the help, I'll come back when I get the cord [in the mail]

  • @maxter480 Okay, cool

  • @kimosis004 Plugged it in, thanks for the help, looks sexy xD

  • @maxter480 Your welcome, glad it works!

  • @kimosis004 Hey i got everything in the right place but when i switch to HDTV and go to componet i dont here audio or i dont see the picture. But when i switch it back to Regular tv i see everything perfect please help me. SO i can hook up my HD PVR

  • @Vapuration make sure that all the colored wires are in one row (Component 1 for example). Also make sure you are switching inputs on the TV when you switch the HD to AV. The HDPVR is a little more confusing, I dont own one so I dont know much about it.

  • I own a ps3 and this is my first time hooking this thing up.......and this is by far the most hardest thing to set up like.........so much crap! Theres like this yellow tip cord and its like do I even USE it?! Ugh. lol its going to take me all night to make this crap work

  • @Universal247 I could try to help but I have never owned or hooked up a PS3. I dont even know if it has an HDMI port. But I take it, that it has component cables which is just like the xbox. Those are red green and blue

  • @kimosis004 Alright ahaha i got it....i was so frustrated ahaha

  • @Universal247 Okay, thats good I know it can be frustrating, glad I could help a little

  • @kimosis004 So I only need either the hdmi or the xbox component cables right? not both?

  • @hueovs Yes depending on the console edition. If it has an HDMI port you dont need the component cables

  • plz answer will i have a delay when i play beacause i have a delay when i use hdmi cable??????

  • @braziliankd Okay, have you tried component? and What 360 is it?

  • @kimosis004 no and i have the arcade

  • @braziliankd Okay, so the HDMI is plugged into the TV and the Xbox, but you are having a delay. Is it video or sound delay?

  • At the HDTV settings mine says auto ! If select that resolution changes to 12**x720 or something ! Please help !

  • @TheXtremeGamer90 Oh, I havent heard of that problem before. What cable are you using to connect it?

  • i don't have that switch plug and i have hdmi and it only lets me do 1080i

  • @N4161X Is it a newer xbox?

  • I have mine at 720 p and it is widescreen on my xbox but there is like 4 inches of black on the bottom and top of the tv

    how do i change this?

  • @taybo1993 Is the TV and HDTV? Maybe the TV is set to have a 4:3 ratio, because if your Xbox says 720p that probably isn't your problem. Try adjusting your TV aspect ratio.

  • @kimosis004 there is no way to do that, at least not in the menus at all

is there a service code or something?

  • @kimosis004-is this the same with the slim? cause i have a gears of war 3 slim xbox and i think im getting a hdmi cable and hdtv for christmas? would u just do the same thing?

  • thanks dude!

  • @TheGeneralOwner your welcome man!

  • MAN YOUR A LIFESAVER!!I was wondering why the fuck my Xbox quality looks like Shit!!!BTW WE HAVE THE SAME TV!!I have a Sony 32" Led 1080p

  • @SuperAwsomeDude12 Oh thanks man, your welcome. Haha i had the same problem, and thats why I made the video...and yea this tv is great i havent had a single problem

  • Hey man great vid!!!

Hate to be a pain but what size is that tv and is it LED?

    Thanks in advance.

  • @MattyyPro Thanks, and your not a pain. Its a Sony Bravia 32" LCD LED 1080p.

  • So the hdmi cord? That plugs into were? Im confused...

  • @ZenonCraft if you have the new Xbox 360 S or the older white/elite Xbox 360 with an HDMI port, you plug one end in to the Xbox and the other into the port on your TV. If you don't have an HDMI port on your Xbox(like me) then you have to use the component cables to achieve high quality.

  • THAAAAT setup...lol

  • @spikerdude111 ... what?

  • @kimosis004 I heard a sound glitch in the video somewhere... and when you said "that setup" the "that" had a stuttering sound..

anyway, cool vid! and i think you would be a good voice actor, lool

  • @spikerdude111 oh haha... Really? Maybe, but i have gone back to my older videos and cant even watch them bc my voice is so high...haha

  • all xbox's support hd component cable right?

  • @TheSmearedButter I think, I dont have the new Slim xbox so i dont know for that, but all the others do.

  • @kimosis004 cool and it can go up to 1080p right?

  • @TheSmearedButter Yes sir, as long as your TV is full HD

  • no sound ;(

  • @WinniBen This problem seems to be happening a lot to people. Are you using component or HDMI cables?

  • @kimosis004 HDMI

  • @WinniBen Oh okay... HDMI has video and sound in it so... Do you have any other sound devices hooked up such as surround sound?

  • @kimosis004 no just my xbox. i managed to get the HD graphics back but still no sound.

  • @WinniBen First, make sure the tv sound works, with cable or a dvd player or something so you know that it is not the tv. Try connecting the with the component cables(the ones that came with the xbox). On those the red and white solid color ones are for audio.

  • @kimosis004 ok ill try it

  • @kimosis004 haha it works ! cheers a million kimosis! :)

  • @WinniBen Awesome! Your welcome... Anytime I can help!

  • dude i have no sound coming from my tv when i hooked it up? whats wrong?

  • @ToxicDiNoGames Are you using hdmi or component?

  • @kimosis004 nevermind i figured it out

  • thanks man

  • @yabraki your welcome dude!

  • component

  • @cjthegood Make sure only the green, blue, and red striped ends are plugged in the correct component slots. These are your video ends. The solid white, yellow, and red are av(standard definition ends). The solid red and white are audio only. Make sure those are plugged in to the corresponding ports next to the component ports that already have the green, blue, and red plugged in. This should work...also make sure they are in tightly. Hope that helped! (sorry if its long)

  • dude i still have a problem cuz there's no sound when i put in hdtv, help me please

  • @cjthegood Are you using HDMI or component cables?

  • Kimosis i love you

  • @FHEskateboarding I love you too! :D (no homo, of course...okay maybe a little...haha jk)

  • @kimosis004 ive honestly been playing xbox for about a month with no sound haha... but now its fixed!!! :)

  • HDMI FTW

  • @chobin50 Haha yeah! :D

  • THANK YOU YOU ARE THE BEST!

  • @cutnkillmeAddi thanks, and so are you!

  • There are component holes on the underside of my tv and at the side, i have the red white and yellow all on one cable, and the red green and blue on a cable but not sure where they go, I can hear the sound but doesn't display anything :S

  • @Leecuz1 Yes, the red, white, and yellow are av cables(which is standard definition); however, for audio you will need the red and white cables. The red, green, and blue cables are display cables(component and can support HD). Just match the red, green, and blue to the component under your tv. Then, next to it there should be red and white for left and right audio. Make sure they are all in the component 1(or 2 or 3) line of ports.

  • i have no audio wtf? can you help?

  • @ashtinlang69 I can try :) Do you mean you can't hear the audio or don't have audio ports on your TV

  • @kimosis004 nevermind man i figured it out and i ment i couldnt hear the audio but thanks anyway

  • Guys .. i have a problem .. at my TV theres no yellow at the component ..

  • @FabyeZz ITS OKAY! You don't need yellow for component. Just green, blue, and red(those are stripped), and solid red and white for the audio. If you don't have the yellow, its normal.

  • @kimosis004 ah okay Thanks .. i solved it :)

  • whats 1080i? is it different to 1080p?

  • @calumelliott "In 1080p, each frame of video is sent or displayed progressively. This means that both the odd and even fields (all 1,080 pixel rows or pixel lines) that make up the full frame are displayed together. This results in a smoother looking image" (about.com). Whereas, in 1080i each frame of video is sent or displayed in alternative fields, even and odd.

  • why does everyone have the switch to change it to HDTV and TV?????

  • @reborn897 i think they removed it from newer 360s because they put in an HDMI port.

  • Red, yellow, and white cables mean that they are AV cables which is the lowest quality for a 360. Anyway make sure its plugged into the AV slot and not the Component slot. When you press input(on TV or remote) go through all the AV channels (AV1, AV2...). And if it is the new 360 and you have a sony HD tv you should use HDMI to connect it. This will give the best looking graphics. They can be bought for cheap on amazon or wal-mart(dont spend more than $15 on an HDMI cable) Hope this helped.

  • ok I got the same tv and I got the new 360 with the red, yellow, white cords and I plug it into the tv but it wont show on the sreen... wtf
