Sadly, I didnt like this episode, Im from Nicaragua and was offensive to hear all kind of political opinions in this show. But they didnt tell that la Chureca doesnt exist anymore, and that people is being helped with jobs and education thanks to the goverment and the spanish cooperation. Ortega is the devil... yes bla bla bla, the same shit. What a shame... hope that bourdain come again and select better hosts. Sorry, my english is no good but i hope to be understood
@Tesoatega88 your english is pretty good. I am from the UK and I want to live in nicaragua. Have you the time to give me some advice and maybe chat via email. Let me know thanks!
@JediAnneable i dont know, tony has been in so many places (many with the same levels of poverty than Nicaragua) and he talk about food. I wanna think that producers just choosed the wrong hosts for him. It´s sad, I´m a big fan and I still think about the places and all the food that he didnt try... and the other side from history that he didnt listen or watch. And Im no offended, is just sad.
@Tesoatega88 It is sad being Nicaraguan and seeing this being portrayed as your country. I don't think it was a bad episode, it was actually nice seeing him going to places where the reality is hard life. Yes, it was a bit different but I liked it. Nicaragua seems like a very lovely place with kindhearted people. I don't think there's anyone who watched it and said they never want to visit there.
My family and I are from there, my dad and I just finished watching this episode and he started telling me stories of the revolution and about the places being shown. Anyway thanks for uploading this :3
i saw this whole episode a while back and let me say i was very excited that A.B. came to Nicaragua. My parents are Nicaraguan and I moved to Nicaragua a little over 5 years ago. At first, it was a culture shock since I came from the states. Now that I've lived here I really do love it because life is a lot more simple. Yes, there is a lot of problems in this country but, we all have to admit there are problems in EVERY country.
Eating or living from trash occurs all around the world, In Tony's town: New York it is food for around about a million desperate people, this is a global thing. I have tried dumpster diving where I live and while not illegal, it is certainly impossible, garbage is locked and stocked, they would rather throw it away than sell it for a lower price, not that anyone around here would be seen dead in a dumpster. I got a bunch of 50 red tulips though.
I think tony missed it !!! there are some very beautiful places to see in Nicargua I would of rather seen, Granada, Matagalpa, Leon, Just to mention a few, also lake Nicaragua and the black pottery only found in nicaragua
Ummm... well im dominican so i really wanted to know his take on our culture and our food, hopefully now you understand why i would ike to see him go there.
@shnosmas I've been there before on mission trips, it's rough man. I'm just grateful the orphanage I've been to has been able to help what few they can to get a trade so they can get a better life.
Am nicaraguan 10000% y que! me en canto el video, me parecio exellente, keep up the good work tony.
desgraciada mente si hay demaciadas personas abaras en este mundo, como ese senor llamado danilito, pero tengo paciencia yo se saldra del mandato inshallah, y tambien tengo mucha paciencia que mi amado pais mejora.
@kumquatsta Thank you for putting this on, I've been there on mission/relief trips. I enjoy visiting this land and look forward to seeing what Bourdain found there.
Bourdain is a fantastic foodie, and a champion of world food. But it's easy to forget how well read and intelligent he is... these shows rock. He makes a great Rock n Roll old guy!
I like what Anthony Bourdain is doing with his show by focusing on the hard issues affecting people around the world. Another great upload Kumquatsta.
