This game was one of the few "game sof movies" that was actually AMAZING.

My dad bought this from a bargin bucket for my sister, i played it just to try AND WAS BLOWN AWAY of how good the game play was.

EASSILY enjoyed this more than the film, the combos, the engine, the freedom to beat people up and throw them all over the place.

If you own a PS2 still get this, best 1$ you ever spend.

Yeah. I totally agree. I generally agree with the press. My favourite games are Cave Story, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy VII, GTA IV and... THIS! Nobody has tried to reproduce the awesomeness of lobbing people through plate glass windows and around hotel rooms full of movie props with ragdoll physics. It was one of the first games to use them and it's the only game to use them like this (the most obvious and fun way). It got shit when the bad guys all start having guns though.

Yeah, in fact since the movie is one of many adapted from a Philip K. Dick novel, it's more like his other movie adaptation TOTAL RECALL as the character is way more like Schwarzenegger and more action-oriented as opposed to a mind-bending mystery.

And while the movie is great, it could've used an extra dose of kickass moments (Plus, you get away with murder which is what the character in the film avoided completely since he was already considered suspicious)

One of my favorite things to do in the training missions is to use the jet pack and run into the guys on top of the towers and knock them off and they yell as they fall. Really fun beat em up game.

I just started replaying this game after digging it out from my expansive games archive.

The game does itself a favor by not taking itself too seriously. The death noises are hilarious (Try throwing Anderton off a building a few times and see if you get "Ahh, a perfect ending to a perfect day!"), the ragdolls and glass physics are amusing, and the environments feature a nice amount of destructibility. The music is pretty good too.

However, the game's script is terrible, the auto-targeting annoying, the fighting controls lag terribly and don't synch up with your button presses (sometimes as much as a second behind), and the game's graphics were subpar at the time.

However, I do appreciate the game introducing me to "The Apex Theory-" good band, reformed under the name "Mt. Helium."

I covered many of the downsides to the game at the beginning of the video, and some of the comments posted talk about a few other problems. In my personal opinion, I think the biggest reason it has such bad reviews is because it's a game that takes time to get used to and it doesn't make a good first impression.

Maybe you're right. I didn't have any problems with the controls, but they are fairly unusual because of the system they created which discourages button mashing. Which was a good thing, but also made it just a tad counter-intuitive. Hardcore fighting gamers might find it too annoying to adapt to a different control scheme. Otherwise, the only issue I had was that the jumps are a tad awkward and the spin kicks are pretty hard to pull off.
