  • ... I am Martha in our class's play of 1776 and I have sing this. The awkward part is... my best friend, who is a girl also, is Thomas Jefferson because of the lack of female parts. This is going to be interesting.

  • they had a clip of the video, but youtube took it down!

  • Blythey Danner was lovely in the movie but Betty Buckley was INCREDIBLE in B'way cast. Magnificent voice.

  • I just got the call saying I've gotten the part of Martha Jefferson in an upcoming production :) Ahhhhh I'm so excited!!!

  • The lyrics are wrong, in the first verse, the word isn't "it's", it is "twixt".

  • I'm Singing This Song For A PAA Triout O.O Woot ~

  • "That's it, John, we're taking up the violin."

  • Can u send me this song? went 2 freewebs, but it won't let me download.

  • Did you right-click the link and click "save link as"?

  • Gosh Blythe Danner looks EXACTLY like her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow in this movie!!

  • you noee the lady well she is the mother in meet the fockers yeaa i made that face too when i first heard that lmfaoo

  • i have seen this movie 3 times and by far the funniest movie i have seen William Daniels

  • I can't believe this was shown in class though I thought i was going crazy when i heard things that seemed odd... and no one else did

  • I love 1776!

    Thank you!!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • I definitely like this lady more than the Broadway recording one. I feel like she takes the song a lot slower, and she tones down the vibrato considerably, which is nice. It's more sweet-sounding than the other.

  • saw the moive u should see it its great

  • It's odd that her voice sounds so much more limited in the more recent clips of her in Follies. Is she a smoker?

  • *shrug*

  • @MrMidwest Dunno about smoking, but regardless, I'd say there's a big difference between singing and dancing in a musical live every night and recording a single song for a movie under ideal conditions.

  • Blyth Danner (Gwenth Palthrow's mother) player her in the movie. She is known recently for her role in Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers

  • betty buckley is the best martha jefferson and who ever played mathraha in the movie was alful, but hey, what can you do? well anyway, i advise anyone to but the browdway orignal cast recording soundtrack rather then this one

  • i have the soundtrack and this song is toatlly different on the CD, any reason why?

  • Well if it's a different voice, you prolly have the play soundtrack. As far as I know, there IS so official soundtrack of the movie to get. I ripped this from the movie and then cut out the inane comments and long instrumental. If it's the same voice, maybe in the version you have they left everything in, or cut different stuff out.

  • well most of the other songs on the CD are the same voices in the movie

  • The actress would only be in the movie. And the original actor for Ben Franklin died before the making of the CD

  • OHHHHHH thank you

  • That's so sad! he was so good! :'(

  • @bookfreak16984 He didn't die, in fact this IS the original actor Howard Da Silva IN the film.

    He was just unwell.

  • this movie is hysterical!!

  • LOVE IT!!! ;]

  • ben franklin is fucking trippie and funny in this movie

  • hehehe this movie is pretty funny....cheezy! but its a good movie

  • its pretty sexual...

  • quite a departure from betty buckley the original
