The instrumentation is fantastically original, including the Bb Bass Sax...Bix played Cornet, not Trumpet, sound is actually different. the Overtones of the Cornet ahva a more brittle sounds them, Choke cymbal is great on the up beat. besides the cheesy set design and the funky erratic editing, these boys sold the song!! And that 's what it's about. Good work on this one.
God the editing really is annoying. I Like the music but as someone else has mentioned here, it looks fake even if it isn't. This is what often happens when someone with a good idea gets carried away and thinks artsy-tartsy and gets exactly that.
An excellent performance...This band succeeds in getting the intensity and bite of the original...it's very hard to achieve...the tone is perhaps a bit spikey, but then the original recordings will have been "warmed up" by lots of transfers, I guess. It's a pity there isn't a young band doing this genre at the moment...
It's kind of, well, fakey! The camera work is so choppy that a viewer can't tell if these guys are really playing or just pretending. But it was interesting to see, anyhoo.

May be the music was playbacked, may be not; but the music you hear was indeed played by the guys you see. Some of them are still playing in France.
