this came out when i left home and moved to nyc. I didn't know anyone. i listened to this nearly everyday. saw him live on this tour. this album is like an old friend now. I don't listen to it that much anymore but when I do it still excites me.
Why on earth was Euphoria Morning dismissed by critics when it was released?? I love Soundgarden, Temple, Audioslave, and the excellent (though more conventional-sounding) solo stuff, especially Carry On. But along with Down on the Upside, Euphoria Morning sees Chris at his most experimental, and philosophical. Probably if pressed, I'd choose it as my favorite album of his, and I'm a huge fan. So again, just what DIDN'T the critics/public like about this LP? Maybe they hadn't caught up yet...
@dukeon critics are a piece of shit. It's so easy to criticize when you don't create....and yet, in the grammys, they nominate katy perry and rihanna, and kids nowadays like Rebecca Black and Justin Beiber and that's all they hear. Critics, billboard charts, music awards and 90% of teenagers nowadays can all kiss my ass.
The picture looks like a pregnant blonde w/ straight hair, giving birth to a baby elvis impersonator, w/ bigfoot standing in the shadows, smoking a cigerette a little confused. It's there if you look, not kidding!
Wow...ever hear of Bob Dylan and Pete Townsend? Two AWESOME songwriters who have had massive critical and commercial flops in their career and did their own thing regardless of the consequences...I guess if someone's not perfect or doing what we think they should be doing their entire career, we throw them onto a trash heap and move on.
You really think this is better than his soundgarden days? I mean, I love Chris Cornell no matter what and this song is just as perfect as it can get, but his original 90s stuff is the real deal! Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog? Don't downplay the authenticity of his begining work!
@eddyvillmarryme There are some that enjoyed Bruce Springsteen's earlier work. Personally, I liked him better when him music smoothed out and became a little less damaging to my eardrums. Same logic behind like this more than his earlier work.
