Please please help mee!!! I cleaned it, and now it moves on it's own still! It moves down, the faceplate is off and there is no analg stick even there and it moves on it's own! Please please help me! :''(
The analog stick was moving in one direction even without the faceplate or the stick attached to the PSP.
I had taken off the PSP faceplate prior to the problem and the little clear approximately 1cm by 2mm rectangular plastic/rubber piece under the faceplate next to the LCD screen had fallen out and I had placed it back in the wrong way.
PLACE THAT CLEAR RECTANGULAR PIECE IN ITS PROPER POSITION (correct face up and correct end up) and TIGHTEN ALL THE SCREWS and it should work.
i have a psp 3001 and it drifts around, like my guy in socom fireteam bravo 3 walks backwards, i think its because the analog stick, should i change my analog stick or can i clean the psp 3001 somehow, if you can, can someone help me, on how to clean it
can someone please help me out with my psp i did change the umd switch in my 1001 psp becuese was'nt reading the games so after i did that now i have the joystick just stock on one direction i did clean the gold pins so many times but still same any one knows what the proplem is helpppppp thanks
you can also do what isaacrood did to his PSP, that happens sometimes when you put a different parts (not same part when you get your psp) like faceplate, sometimes if you install a faceplate that is small or tight, it will squeeze the metal frame from inside and will have a contact on the motherboard and it will cause some problem like moving by itself.
To louiedave1234 ===> put your psp back together without the analog stick, if it still moves by itself without touching anything (d pad) it means somethings is shorted on your leads (gold squares) so your analog stick is good, try cleaning your gold squares leads on your motherboard and let it dry...hope this helps you
@louiedave1234@piplupisnopokemon do you have a little plastic piece on your analog stick? i was gonna buy a new analog but then i found out that if you don't have the little plastic piece the analog stick won't work. try consolezombie com
So... You just cleaned the contacts with alcohol? I've this problem on my Slim, cleaned them but still can't. Just wondering, do you know what exactly is the problem and what cleaning the contacts would do?
Well, thanks anyway, I'll still search for another way to fix mine if possible
If there is anything on the contacts, these could increase the resistance, which is why this happens. Analogue sticks work off simple variable resistors to get two inputs (X and Y). Having dirty contacts change the resistance between the contacts. If cleaning the contacts doesn't help, then clean the tracks on the inside of the stick. Pop open the four clips at the side of it, and then gently pull the board off. Clean the tracks and the contacts on the sliders, reassemble.
