I'm 19 and I love this song. Im also more appreciative to Madonna's music than the euro dance trash that fills our airwaves today.(I actually love dance music but the fact that EVERYONE thinks they can do it is RUINING it)Its soo funny that people today dont consider songs good unless they have 3 words in them and a hot beat.What ever happened to lyricism and feel??Madonna has made some of the BEST music "masterpieces" of all time.

In MY opinion comparing a love to the Mona Lisa and the "darkness turning to light" bit are just examples of cliched writing in this song. Madonna has - I might add - also released songs to "shake your titties and ass to" and there's nothing wrong with that too. Katy, Rihanna and Gaga - like Madonna - have strong ballads in their repertoire AND strong dance songs.

The core message of this song is how sometimes WE complicate relationships by idolizing the other person, hence becoming dependent of them. I think that the metaphors used to explain this are actually pretty smart.
