  • I keep coming back to watch this ONCE IN A LIFETIME PERFORMANCE!!!

    THE BEST..ABSOLOUTE BEST!

  • Capps is the greatest. Just recieved the DVD set that included this video as a Christmas present. Love it.

  • THIS CAN NOT GET ANY BETTER...PERFECTION.

  • Jean Shepard is one heck of singer! Sadly today's female country singers don't even come close to the brilliant Ms. Shepard!

  • So, I guess Jimmy Capps lost his job after this and became a sheriff ...and plays at Larry's Country Diner for extra income! NOT!!!!!

  • I watch this show on RFD whenever I can. No place better than RFD to find real country music and the real legends of country music. I love-love-LOVE Jean Shepard she's fiery just like my grandmother's were.

  • omg she has such radiant personality, i dont think a soul in this world cant hold a grudge against this women, reminds me of my mother in law so much!

  • glad shes finally a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame

  • Now that folks is country music at it's bes,t with some of the greatest female singers ever.

  • love this song. jean shepherd used to duet with gerry ford. do you have any of his songs ? x

  • whos the person at 3:25?

  • Some great Ladies of country music to bad the singers of today aren't like them.

  • Jean Shepard and Patti Page--absolutely my two favorite senior ladies. Glad to see them both still in the game.

  • Cool....

  • Please explain to me who the original ladies are at the beinning of the song and then they are joined by two other's after the singing starts. Seems to be some confusion on who exactly they are.

Pretty new to this so please bear with me.

    jc3494

  • @jc3494 Jeannie Seely,Jan Howard,Kitty Wells,Margo Smith,Skeeter Davis,Carol Lee Cooper and last but not least i think thats Jeannie C Riley that comes in towards the end

  • Jean Shepard just gets better with age...and I love the mistake by Jimmy Capps. Never seen him do that before

  • My Uncle Jimmie Skinner Who sang on Opry In The 60s Loved This Precious Lady

  • ms jean is awesome.. love her singing, dear john

  • What a great song. I remember watching this on TV.

  • Who is the pedal steel player ? Is it Weldon ?

  • @pedalman No it's not Weldon, It's Mike Johnson. Mike is one of Nashville's top studio pickers. He came along after Sonny Garrish in Bill Anderson's "Po Boys". He now does nothing but studio work. He's in too much demand for road work any more.

  • its so sad that most of these great singers are gone now and we are left with wanna be singers

  • This was great, who are these I'm asumming,,,Legands. I know who Jean Shepard is, she's unique... Just a Mexican American here expanding my horizons in Country Legands & music.. I Know,,,,,Bless My Heart..........

  • THe man in the black hat/blue shirt is Mac Wiseman.......also a lady previously identified the first lady on the left as Jeanie C. Riley, .....but it really is Cheryl White, daughter of Buck White and sister to Sharon White whom is married to Ricky Skaggs....All the Singing group.."The Whites".

    Hope this helps....

    Thanks KEN

  • @JacobsOompa That IS actually Jeannie C. Riley. Sharon White is not as large as Jeannie C. Riley.

  • OH THIS IS PRECIOUS......My Good Lord...what fine music here folks....From Left to right: I know they are Buck White's daughter-Cheryl, then Kitty Wells....Skeeter Davis in the yellow, behind her is Stoney Coopers & Wilma Lee's Daughter-Carol Lee Cooper, Jeannie Seally, Jan Howard, Jean Shephard and Margo Smith....

There ya go folks, how is that LOL....I know all of the menfolks there too....a good share of them I have met personally and have autographs.....GOD BLESS and thanks for posting..KEN

  • Who are these great ladies? I only recognize Kitty Wells, Jean Shepard, Skeeter Davis and possibly Jeannie Seely :/

  • When they all finally get standing in a row they are (left to right) Jeannie C Riley, Kitty Wells, Carol Lee Cooper, Skeeter Davis, Jeannie Seeley, Jan Howard, Jean Shepard & Margo Smith.

  • goodmusic70, upon watching and listening to this video, I am saddened by how many of these great performers have passed away, but I am also joyful for the beautiful legacy they have given to each of us. We are indeed blessed because even though they are no longer here to perform, their music lives on. Thanks for your contibution in helping preserve these memorable moments.

  • At 2:45 to 2:51 who's the heavy set man in the blue shirt black hat w/gray beard I know his name but can't think of it Please help

  • the late and great johnny russell

  • Johnny Russell--a great song writer (a tiger by the tail..and a few others for Buck Owens..and others)

  • @todd48182 THATS THE LATE JOHNNY RUSSEL HE SANG ACT NATURALLY WAS THE SONG THAT HE SANG ON COUNTRY FANILY REUNION OK LOL ALAN

  • Ever notice how Jean keeps her left hand behind her back while she's singing? She's keeping the time with the musicians. I was always fascinated by that.

  • @fredro2 -yes she has always done that, thats like you say how she keeps time with the band and knows when to hit the right notes

  • Isnt that breathtaking, kitty, jeannie, jean, margo, carol lee, jan, skeeter all together, i kno i left someone out

  • Is that Margo Smith? I thought it was Goldie Hill

  • Yes, just a great lot of talent. Don't make em like this anymore.

  • I think you left out Jeannie C Riley

  • These ladies sing, they dont yell. They dont have to "show themselves" and didnt have to do that when younger. Talent trumps everything.

  • @graylyns now u r all killing me with this good ole music this jamaican boy don't have access to these good things on a regular basis u know

  • I hugged her when I was 10 (I'm now 27) at the Howard Johnson Motel, now the Red Roof Inn, on Music Valley Dr. in Nashville, just off Briley Pkwy. She also gave my mom free singing lessons. Jean Shepherd is truly a legend in country music!

  • you have to look at the expressions Jean Shepard gives Jimmy Capps when he loses his string, its halarious. My mom always has like Jean Shepard and Jan Howard who is in Red. I believe Jan is married to a Surgeon in Nashville

  • @Mattea68 He didn't lose a string, He started taking the lead break but he was playing in the wrong key.

  • Actually i think most of the women in here are still alive and well. The only ones that i know who have passed away since this was Skeeter Davis and Goldie Hill

  • how many of these ladies are left

  • All except Skeeter Davis (in the white hat)

  • i can hear this song over n over i luv it thanks 4 posting.. and u wanna hear jean shepard tune in to the best station 650 WSM...

  • Not only the "Grand Ladies of Country Music" you can also add to that the "Grand Ladies of the Grand Ole Opry." Would everybody agee to this statement?

  • the grand ladies of country music i love to see them get together when they can they still sound awesome

  • jeannie Seeley is the one in blue.

  • whos the lady in the blue????

  • This is with out a doubt what good country music sounds like.

  • You got that right!

  • troja0150

Lovely to see and hear these 'family reunion' clips. I'm 76 and met Jean at Wembley 1977 - a treasured memory .

She can still turn a tune brilliantly.

  • Oh Ilove the days of Yesteryear I miss these veteran artists Please ya all I need money to start my own radio station fm of course so I can play thousands of great classic sounds like this I miss em a lot .

  • These are great, its sad to see how many here are deceased since this, Goldie Hill,Grandpa Jones,Skeeter Davis,Justin Tubb,Merle Kilgore,Del Reeves,Billy Walker, holds good memories

  • ...and Chet atkins, johnny russell & Bill Carlisle!!

I hope they are all making wonderful Country music together in Heaven, but they certainly have left a great legacy for all of us to enjoy!!

  • How right you are, Mattea. As I watched and listened to this, I couldn't help but think of the number of wonderful songs and memories from these great country artists. Many beautiful memories here. God bless them all.

  • Why isn't Jean in the Country Music Hall of Fame? maybe politics?

  • definitely politics, many who arent, Dottie West, George Hamilton IV, just to name a few, I'm a friend of Charlie Dick, the widower of Patsy Cline, as he was saying while drinking beer with him at his house, all the ""characters"" are gone or there arent'many left. very true, I really don't like today's country music, enjoy watching this

  • @Patsyclinefantx jean Shepard went against Nashville politics many years ago. She is a talent that believes in what she does and stands for what she believes. No politics about her at all

  • great music what is the series called is it on dvd

  • If you ever get a chance to see her do it, you will notice how she always counts behind her back to the beat

  • you see her do it when she sings, What A Friend We Have In Jesus, it's kinda cute to watch

  • jean shepards voicce is amazing she never changes with age

  • what was this Tv show called ??

  • its a set of videos

  • Love Jean Shepard But She Should have Kitty Well singing with her as well!!!!!!
