  • Why can't we just share this video? This song is a classic!

  • With such an iconic song, I'm truly surprised that 33 people disliked this song.

  • I haven't listened to this song is years, but I realize the theme is inter-black violence: I always thought it was a peaceful song back in the day. Still a better story than the junk you hear on the radio today

  • hiphop swinged

inccredible book if u like intelligent hiphop, they spoke to over 100-of the-greatest MCs in it,, got it from--Amazon's site...

  • arrested development are so unique ;x they are singing about things that happen to us every day , they are singing about positive things.. like in this song.. he is singing about something like that without swearing or sth like this.. damn i love this song it has so much positive energy in it ;x

  • this reminds me or the early 90s summer times, when i used to get some Jamaican Caribbean take away food round the block from me .

  • You say Justin Bieber-I say Tupac

You say Lil Wayne-I say Biggie Smalls

You say Drake-I say Ice Cube

You say Soulja Boy-I say Big Pun

You say Gucci Mane-I say Rakim

You say New school-i say shut the fuck up

You say Pop-I scream Hip Hop!

You say Hannah Montana-i fucking punch you in the face

92% of teenagers have turned to New school and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos.

  • @ycaru69 i say shut the fuck up

  • @ycaru69 u must so stupid your head is having mini-strokes every night

    92 % =)))

    idiot

  • @ycaru69 This is fucking stupid. Music changes over the course of time. As a result, each generation of kids will be exposed to a different style of music then the one before them. You think "New School" music sucks because you grew up with biggie smalls and people from the 80's think biggie smalls is fucking stupid because they listened to new wave music. People from the 60's think new wave is stupid because they grew up during the British invasion era of music. Is any of this getting through?

  • @SamuelNes How dare you post an intelligent comment on youtube. I came on here to berate music that's not part of my generation and then you post this shit. Thanks a lot!!

  • why won't the share video link work on facebook!! :(

  • Spam getting 82 thumbs up????

  • @ogfunk187 You obviously haven't read the book.

  • @chaoticjesus that advert is on loads of rap pages. its spam. and no i havent the book, i dont need to read a book to learn about rap.

  • @ogfunk187 I'm just saying that it's a really good book, It's interesting to see everyones ideas on rapping, it's basically just a book of interviews not so much an actual "HOW TO RAP" book.

  • this song makes me wanna start jammin to the irie vibes

  • wow...love this song, haven't heard it in ages......

  • Arrested Development. NWO arresting free energy, spirit, peace, love. Great song. Love it :-)

  • What's the name of the reggae song that the call and response intro is taken from?

  • 1992 MUSIC SAMPLES:

    - Changing Keys - Merv Griffin (1983-89)

    - Everyday People - Sly & the Family Stone (1968)

  • i prefer this verison to the album version something about this is just so much more chilled than the album version

  • shit hear dis beat. yes from time to time u get back to dis one anyway. 100

  • music today is missing the SOUL artists had back in the day. all i see on mtv is some bling ass bitch talking how hard it was in the ghetto and how much money he has now.

  • @kummeliman it's true. i was watching a documetary the other day on reggae and toots hibbert was saying that reggae artists these days have little respect for the message that they're supposed to be conveying. reggae is akin to god.

  • Fabulous!!! This song is a really legend!!

  • REal Rap!!

  • Venture Bros made me watch this again. :)

  • hype up on the smooth tip!! lol

  • Very good song! : )

  • i love this song because..... it didnt talk about what car they're driving, or what bottle their poppin at the club or how much they're worth.

    Just straight good lyrics.

  • @1264Music hate to burst your bubble but they mentioned 40oz

  • i wanna stand up and clap my hands

  • to da 28 people dat dont like the song...you dont have any taste in music...

    this is a old skool....hehehe

  • @mwatee1 this song is the shit...love it

  • @bripell62 where can u find this book at bra

  • @nastycraven

It's in most bookstores, or you can order it online at Amazon

  • I think what people mean when they say 'there won't be music like this anymore' is that music reflects the time we live in, and the early 90's was an amazing time to be alive. Life was so chilled and so was the music. Sure, you can still find artists like Arrested Development, Tribe Called Quest etc but it doesn't have the same appeal as the world is now 100mph. Music adjusts to the times, which hasn't worked out to well for HIp Hop imho.

  • This song always cheer me up.....still nice to hear it...

  • id like a updated version of this song for todays youth...but thats wishful thinkin huh?

  • i was a young buck when this jam came out, always used to hear it being played by the older heads

  • Who said "there will never b musuc like this" they must hav been a whiteman.....dumbass mother fuker...

  • @gusliza1 fuck off you racist scum, you cant make music like this. just cause the guy who did has brown skin you wanna try to take some credit

  • @Teph87 i wanna try n take credit, WHAT DRUGS R U ON? THERE WILL ALWAYS BE MUSIC LIKE THIS AROUND DUMB ASS FUCKER WHITE TRASH THAT U R.. BLACKS CAN SING N DANCE.

  • @gusliza1 says the black trash that cant sing

  • @Teph87 Get the fuck off blk music Before You get ya ass beat Bitch Stop hiding behind that computer screen and come face to face with that bullshit

  • @AndreRedd1Empire shutup you probably didnt even see the whole conversation before you jumped in you racist pig

  • @gusliza1 not necessarily......there will always be great music like this.....and i'm a white guy

  • this where days...

  • Go 'head daddy..do your dance...lol

    {starting @ 3:33}

  • Go 'head daddy..do your dance...lol

    {towards the end}

  • this video makes me sad because they make life look so fun, simple, and free

but in reality life is a struggle.

  • @arab3515

Maybe they were singing about life; if you listen to it a few times it sound like a reggae + blue amongst other things; these were two very successful genres to be evolved from the gospel times from when slavery and infdifference were common;(one of the mediums which were used was song, dance and music, I'm sure) maybe there is something in that message; enjoy life while you can-even if it is simple..the music speaks for itself; great memeories of these folks too..

  • @Smallmaxx THANKS FOR THAT

  • Anyone who says that this crap is better than the music today is completely full of shit. Ordinarily I'm with you guys, but in this case, you are just totally fucking wrong. Arrested Development should have just been 'Arrested' and thrown into labor camps without a trial.

  • @TheLAKERSareGodsTeam Please explain why you think this?? Arrested Development are bonafide afrocentric gold!

  • @will12352 Whatever. You must have to be dizzy headed on afrosheen to listen to this. Because if you're clean and sober you know that this music is complete shit.

  • @TheLAKERSareGodsTeam

    Crap? You're existence is crap

  • Hey @JoseVargas666123 you right man cause i love this type of music and i believe i could bring it back LOL i dont know im just confident fam but this music right here has soul for real

  • stpendoooo

  • stupendooo!!!!

  • Anyone know where I can find this version of this song? It's different from the album version, and quite frankly, I like it a good deal more. :o

  • @daikuarumando You need to look for the Metamorphosis Mix that's 4:55 mins long, the Radio edit is the shorter 3.26 mins version, this video is kinda in between the two.

  • @daikuarumando I remember it being on the album, but, it was a bonus "remix" track. I got the CD when I was a kid, back when it was brand new, then got stolen at school. I downloaded it off Utorrent recently, but this version was not there.

  • I remember a long time ago 1992, I was at a BBQ picnic in the park. The DJ played this song about 5 times and we never got tired. We danced our asses off. Ah, memories.

  • this is my favorite, this is heavy joint, straight banger.

  • old skool love this song

  • great video

  • luv dis song longtime..i like to listening

  • Classic stuff. Great times to grow up

  • @morpheus232001 for me could have been five years earlier... but this is still so fresh, ah, freakin out :-)

  • LUV DIS SONG.....MAKE ME WANT DANCE

  • Comment removed

  • @Sk3pTiCz Get a Life. So now u know how we felt when we saw them advertising "Arrested Development"!!

  • Great song, if only the musicians of today would produce music this good and enjoyable to listen/dance to, other than the cheap beats and annoying melodies of today. Something's gotta give, bring back good music.

  • Once this song comes on, I can't help but feel happy.

  • This song uses two samples that I love to this day.

"Everyday People" by Sly & The Family Stone (the chorus)

and "Tappan Zee" by Bob James (the background music).

What a genius combination that Arrested Development came with. I love it!!!

  • STAY STRONG MY PEOPLES NEVER SLEEP ON THE ENEMY KEEP THEM CLOSE BY FEEDIN THEM.REMEMBER WE MAKE IT DO WHAT IT DO. EVERTHING IS 2 B EARN.CAN'T NO 1 TAKE FROM U BUT U. AND U UNDERSTAND WHAT I TALK! LEAD BY EXAMPLE, LETS STAY KEEPIN R EYES ON THE PRIZE. I LUV MY PEOPLES. ALLAHS AKBAR!!

  • WOAAHH! this was a blast in the 90's this was off the hook where music went off the roof hehe.!! danng the music was crazy in the 90's no limits just everyone jammed and no one really much bothered of them where people kickn it and chilling out no matter what race we all came from but man best years in the 90's where people just learn how to like get along without any nonsense what so ever but man this is where everything had style and class to the music world. It was leggiiit!

  • man i was in jr high wen i listen to all the best music of the early 90´s and you felt the music you dance to te music and you felt like you where flying. in the 90 i watch mtv all the time. now i just dont give a dam, their is nothing good on. its all crap no feeling no nothing.

  • VINYL'S KILL MP3 INDUSTRY

  • Classic!

  • on holiday in cyprus a club called carwash played this (then return of the mack straight after). From then on I decided it was the best club I've ever been to.

  • What song does this sample ? I know they took the chorus from Sly but the sample is a christian rock song and I can't figure out what's it's name

  • THIS IS THE LIFESTYLE I WANNA LIVE, TRAVELING WITH A GROUP OF CLOSE PEOPLES AND NO CARES OF WHAT TOMARROW MIGHT BRING. THATS THE MOST UNSTRESSFUL TYPE OF LIFESTYLE

  • Just saw them about an hour ago at the Ottawa Folk Fest. Open air in a big field, great night, everyone was dancing, feels good. Incredible band.

  • the moral of the story is yer all grown yer own ego's! Lots of African references intheir music n vids but somehow can't ever remember them going there or contributing anything positive to Africa!

  • this is that real music.

  • Comment removed

  • this is the best music i have ever listen to i dont their will be no song like this again this days rap songs are crap

  • called 1991-92 bet half of you cunts werent even born...

  • @petesyalex - does it matter if they were born then or not?

Fact is they are listening to it just like us and most are appreciating it.. it doesn't matter if you were alive when this song came out or not. I Have more respect for a kid listening to this song than ppl growing up with it like you and i did, the fact that some kids out there aren't close minded and extend their tastes to music before their time should be encouraged not looked down upon or brushed off as "not being there".

  • that was a dope

    that cant die

  • see them this thursdy grsssroots fest

  • To anyone who says "there will never be music like this again" there will always be music like this. We just wont find it on MTV, or on top 40 radio. Go to local open mics, local jazz clubs, etc. You'll find it.

    Even here on youtube.

  • @JoseVargas666123 - Well said! This Man speaks the truth

  • @JoseVargas666123 all the new muusic is crappy. except the come back from oldschool artists

  • 20 yrs later, still awesome.

  • Epic !

  • 14 and loving this song!!!

I have no more hope for the human race, just looking at the media. Jersey shore and new music is killing the souls of people. Some music is good but that is really rare... sad...

  • @spbighi0 I hear you :(

  • This was the greatest era of hiphop
