I disagree. When you hit a football so incredibly hard, you have very little control over where it is going.

This is demonstrated by the fact that Roberto Carlos scored so few free kicks - however when he did manage to get one on target, it looked aesthetically pleasing.

Roberto Carlos' free kick technique is made up of a lot of luck, and a little good technique.

He built his reputation off one free kick against France - and it was an undeserved reputation. He is not fit to lace the boots of Mihajlovic or Juninho.
