This phone is a perfect average / entry level phone. My wife and I will be getting this phone on the $29 plan from Optus (it costs $5 /mth on that plan).
First smartphone for the both of us and we didn't want to spend a lot of money either.
Its a perfect phone for our requirements. That's the key here.
It's funny because I'm watching this on my HTC Incredible S. Lol.
To be honest, I agree with nearly all of the things he said. It's a decent phone, not badly priced and it works beautifully. The screens surface is quite smudge happy though, but the screen itself is good but gets hard to see in sunlight sometimes. It also takes great photos although the video is average.
The incredible S and Desire S are both very good average phones. I was wondering who would those phones when there are stuff like SGS2 or the Sensation but then my mother wanted to buy a smartphone. Iphone was too expensive for her and i started thinking.. I landed on the Desire S. Looks very nice is not super expensive and is just a good average phone. So i guess there are a lot of people like her that want phones like this.
I cant use anything smaller than 4.3" though :) happy with my DHD!
@clouds5 It all boils down to the value for price. I bought an incredible s from optus prepaid for $299.00. It's the best phone I've ever owned. Whilst you can get the htc evo 3d or samsung galaxy 2 for around $500 or over in some places. $299 is still alot cheaper than paying over $500 for a faster phone. To me it was worth it.
I have this phone, and believe me, it's great. It works great, has an nice battery life, and the screen is beautiful. The screen size is also perfect.
@englishchrisaus1 They have one for every need: A big and fast one (Sensation 4.3"), one for the 3d geeks (Evo3d 4.3"), a small and cheap one (Wildfire S 3.2"), one for the qwerty keyboard fans (ChaCha 2.6"), and the average ones in between (Desire S 3.7" & Incredible S 4"). These are their latest products at least where i live.
Of course a lot of people have the older ones like me (DesireHD), DesireZ (qwerty slider) or Desire. Which are actually predecessors from the phones above.
So just now I realised that I'm more likely to watch a video if the preview picture includes your face. You handsome bastard. Seriously though I love the video's. And I get a pretty nice feeling seeing you taking photo's from places I know quite well (being also from Sydney.) Thanks for the awesome.
@poweroftheshinobi Fanboys are incredibly closed-minded and foolish. It is about time that you realize that there ARE better brands out there that are better than Apple. But go ahead.....stay with your closed-minded ways and closed source software.
That said I do own a Macbook Pro and an iPhone. The iPhone is good....but the "Android" are way better in many ways.....the iPhone is others.
Open your mind....and open your eyes. Do not be a slave to branding.
@Blunty3000 schooled by the master of witty banter blunty himself btw nothing out of htc is shitt i like them just by there looks alone they ant plastic like my galaxy sbut hey

also how do I get better at taking pictures with my o so normal camera?
cause dear jesus I always love how your pictures look my pic's pale by comparison oh so sadly.
@groobz101 No, he seeks out and "reviews" crap as a gimmick merely for comedy value, I review stuff people are actually interested in finding out if it's worth owning. But I appreciate the comparison none the less, he is quite entertaining.
Respond to this video... ok peoples opinions please, if u dont have the patience to wait for the Xperia Pro to release. would you get the Xperia Mini Pro or the Xperia Play. As a phone bcuz i kno as a gamer u wud gt the Play obviuosly
...Huh. I have the Droid Incredible 2 (Or HTC Incredible 2, whatever) and well, it's exactly the same as the Incredible S. Is the S just a regional thing? Or is it actually any different?
Wow blunty you werent joking about the back being really ugly lol was watching then at 5:50 when you had the back off i saw it... dont think it would put me off tho. i think this might be worth taking a look into like you say.
Dang How many cell phones do you own Blunty? I would think that one is enough trouble to deal with. Or did you just happen to have a few review units lying around? I know you own the I phone. Great video by the way. I always enjoy your photography work. I really liked the photo at 3:57. Its like a ghetto playground. What time of day was that shot at? The lighting is very interesting there, its like a tree shadow or something.
@JaySeeAndWe Unedited right off the memory card. As is always the case when I'm reviewing a camera (with few exceptions, which I will always explicitly point out)
I don't really know everything about smartphones, however, I am wondering when someone will release one where people can choose their own operating system without hacking the device. Or are there hardware reasons why all phones I know are restricted to a build-in operating system?
I still remember my first PDA where you had to choose what few files you wanted to carry with you on your 256MB SD card, in your PDA without WiFi. Trying to navigate through it with a stylus that even surgeons had trouble navigating with.
Ah yes, the good ol' da-.. No wait a minute. That was terrible! On second though, be gone, nostalgic memory! Make place for awesome new shiny things! :D
This phone is really nice, beautiful interface, and I like how you can change the skins. however, its not that big of an update from last year's Incredible. Here in the US, they branded it the Droid Incredible, and this year's version is called Droid Incredible 2. Lol I'm keeping my current Incredible. Does what I need it to do and I can customize the hell out of it with custom roms. Front facing camera isn't a big deal since I carry my 4th Gen. IPod touch. Worthy for new customers, though
You should do a video (like your "Shitter" one) about dumbass questions people in the comments, like, "Who in the U.S. will carry it?" or the price question, shit that could EASILY be Googled but these dumbshits are too lazy to even type in the url.

@Blunty3000 Well, you can't tell that just by looking at the device (But you can certainly Google.. looking at you peacock).
You know those ultra thin soap-dish cameras, where zooming is actually done vertically inside the camera.. light travels to sensor periscope style.
But again, if this phone had that implemented, it would be features all around the box, christened as cameraphone and totally would be complimented by Blunty :)
the only problem i've had with my incredible S is the power button recession problem.. it tends to recess over time but other than that i fucking love it
especially when i compare it to my old iphon4 it trumps it hands down..
you should try the SPB Shell 3D ui mod for the HTC IS it is simply amazing
Ive had one of these since March this year, got it for my birthday and it is my 1st ever smart phone. I havent had any problem with it at all and great to use anywhere =) love it! x
I was actually starting to wonder whether or not HTC will be able to keep up now that Samsung and Sony Ericsson have started adopting modified versions of the Android OS. Seeing as HTC used to be the top in the market for Android. This video answered my questions.
@EchoKrome HTC're doin fine... They don't seem to get the spotlight or gimmic-trick as often as Sony or Sammy, but they consistently push out handsets that are pretty decent to live with.... and that's what most non-geeky types want really.
why cant they make a phone where the battery lasts more than a day...My samsung galaxy S barely makes it through the day on one charge... its becoming very frustrating
teza789.. @Blunty3000 .. But. Will it burn? haha .. no, that's camera's only. and whoo, optus! (finally something that's not telstra!) good review.. oh um, is the menu/interface better than the iphone? and yoou need to switch to optus! hehe
@teza789 I'm officially sick of wallys trying to be clever by postng that. Kids... the "will it blend" joke was old three years ago. now it's just sad and tired. It's not even YOUR fucking joke!
@Blunty3000 sorry blunty its just i havent seen any1 post that in like months so i though ill just throw that little joke in XD ill remove the comment tho
My old incredible was very reliable and withstood multiple drops over and over on tile floors. Even after I cracked the screen it worked good. I can just imagine this new one with gorilla glass o_O. Just wondering have you looked at the new upcoming Wii successor at all yet?

@EchoKrome HTC're doin fine... They don't seem to get the spotlight or gimmic-trick as often as Sony or Sammy, but they consistently push out handsets that are pretty decent to live with.... and that's what most non-geeky types want really.

why cant they make a phone where the battery lasts more than a day...My samsung galaxy S barely makes it through the day on one charge... its becoming very frustrating

176x144 - My eyes, my beautiful eyes D:
It's a nice treat having 2 Blunty3000 videos in a single week :D
I still think I'll stick with my iPhone 4 - Especially with iOS5 right round the theoretical corner!
Great video as always, Blunty!

I love how there's an Optus splash screen on start up, yet your carrier is Vodaphone.

My old incredible was very reliable and withstood multiple drops over and over on tile floors. Even after I cracked the screen it worked good. I can just imagine this new one with gorilla glass o_O. Just wondering have you looked at the new upcoming Wii successor at all yet?
