This performance breaks through the corn barrier and emerges on the other side as almost artistic. Thanks for the posting of this very talented player.
@scoobydoorocks10 You should go to Dickenson High school in Wilm. De. They have a restored wurlitzer in the auditorium that hey have concerts on (google Dickenson Historical Society). I used to live in Dover and went to the concerts all the time!
Best part of it is the place is well managed and busy. Too many of these grand instruments have fallen silent due to poor management or financial reverses. Good to see this one well maintained and played every day in such a fun environment! Charlie is simply great on it of course!
I see it almost everyday because im a proud employee at Organ Stop Pizza and if you never seen the organ in person you should really come down and see it
I got to Agree with eddykaw- I used to go to see the Mighty Wurlitzer At the Roaring 20's in Grand Rapids Michigan with my parents and family when i was a kid. I finally get to see and hear what i have been missing out on for so long! Thank's Charlie !
i also am from the gr and muskegon area and went to see Charley when it was first the roaring 20's then good time Charley's.. I sure miss it..as does my family and friends.. sounds good on youtube but live it is a great experience.. thanks Charley..
wow, this brings back memories. I remember going to "Good Time Charlie's" in grand rapids MI when I was 5 with my grandparents and watching Charley play the Mighty Wurlitzer that was there at the time. I haven't seen him play since then until today. thanks!
Maybe because it's against copywrite laws and they are actually doing the right thing and not doing anything against the law! Wow, how mean is that????
those panels are meant to move when the player depresses the volume pedal on the bottom of the console to let more sound out depending on the mood of the song or where it sounds best
I also had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Charlie when I visited Organ Stop. Indeed, very friendly and approachable. I can't get enough of his fabulous artistry. I have several of his CDs and I hope he makes many more.
This was great! A friend of mine from Arizona visits there regularly and has talked with Charlie, he's a really approachable, friendly guy. I already have one of his CD's. I intend to purchase the DVD. The quality is great! Thanks for posting.

Hope I can hear this organ in person sometime. Every organ should have a duck.

yes the second tune is Columbia the Gem of the Ocean... who could forget that lady singing it to the player piano in Music Man ;)

@irish66212 Hmmm.. isn't the second tune "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean", rather than "Under the Double Eagle"?

Copyright can be worldwide. They can make their DVDs region free
alijanlondon 2 years ago
yeah for a boat load of money, if you only sell a couple worldwide per year, does it really make a lot of sense???
If you think you can do it better, maybe you should buy the restaurant and do it yourself...
