  • Can we do this in windows 7?

  • love the suck effect.. Hope there it will available for Windows 7..

  • the background is awesome you really should publish it.

  • Nice back can you give a link from where you get it from? its cool

  • @Thederasen23 I got Windows Vista 64* OSX i think

  • I have windows Vista but has The dock and the theme for Mac OS X. Does it work on it do you think?

    I also has safari.

  • @sk1ll3r2626 what theme do you have

  • @Thedarsen23 I got Windows Vista 64* OSX i think

  • @Thedarsen23 I got Windows Vista 64* and i think it it OSX too.

  • @sk1ll3r2626 NOO. This code modifies Mac properties which is already coded for Macs into the OS X operating system. It is a hidden feature that needs to be activated by a simple line of code in terminal. The standalone application you have needs more coding in order to do that. And Vista doesn't have terminal. It only has command prompt.

  • Cool wallpaper. Share your brilliant wallpaper with me, friend!

  • thanks for the share. thought it was gonna be like "cool" when i first saw the genie effect. anyone know if there are any more? thanks tho.

  • btw I didnt have to log out and in for it to work

  • Thanks it was so easy =D

  • Comment removed

  • niice.. it works for me.. =D

can u tell me the song's name pls?

  • Will this work on os x leopard (10.5.3) ?

  • is there a way to use genie effects without to docks????

  • It won't work for me. Have you got an iChat account so you can help me with this? If you do then message me your iChat username.

  • HERE IS A BETTER WAY TO DO IT !

Hold "Shift" down and for example click minimize..

    It's much better !

  • that will just use the effect you have set in slow motion... not make it show this hidden one

  • Hey mate, thanks for sharing this, well presented video too.

Also, great that Imerr said that you can replace 'suck' with 'dissolve'

    Also, that background is great.

    Good job making it.

Do you think you could give me a copy?

Don't worry, I only want it for personal use.

    Thanks.

  • Another one is "disolve". You just input disolve for "suck" in the terminal code you provided.

  • i didnt know that one, thanks

  • dissolve one does not work 4 me

  • Awesome tip! But where the hell did u get the background from? I want it soooo bad!

  • i made it, glad you liked it

  • @castrokike2 yea ur pretty fucking cool arent u? you stole a blue background, and added font, ur a pussy, learn photoshop. then act cool, faggot.

  • What the hell is Terminal

  • i rlly want to know how u guys video tape the screen like that...it would come in handy

u guys dont even ue a camera!!!!

some1 plz help me on how to do that!!

  • i use ishow u for screen capturing

  • wats that?

  • dude just search, iShowU

  • iShowU is a program which records what you do on your screen.

  • Just hold the SHIFT button when minimizing when doing it ....

  • Can You Switch Between Effects For The Window? Or Once You've Done That New Effect Is It Impossible To Remove?

    Excellent Effect

  • after setting you can change it back just by choosing another one in system preferences

  • If You Switch Back To The "Genie" Or The Other Effect, Can You Change The Effect Back To "Suck" Without Having To Go Into Terminal And Type All Of This "defaults write com.apple.dock mineffect suck

    killall Dock" Thing?

  • no, unfortunately you can't.... and im no hacker programer to modify system preferences to make it do that :S so.... no help sorry

  • You can make a small shell script to do it for you, then all you have to do is double-click your script and relog.

  • That's a pretty sweet effect, nice video.

  • Where did you get your wallpaper?

Can you give me the link?

  • cool trick... thnxs

  • How do you go back to the original?

  • set it back in system preferences

  • its hold shift when u minimise

  • thats slow motion this is a different effect

  • how would u change it back?

  • change the dock minimizing effect in system preferences back to one of the two default ones.

  • forgive me for sounding so ignorant, i never use terminal: once you're in terminal, is there anything else u have to do other than paste it in?

  • hit enter haha and then enter the second command thats killall Dock and thats it

    it should work

  • yea, about 2 seconds after i posted the comment, i figured it out... thanks anyway!

  • haha awsome background

    what mac do you have?

  • black macbook, 2nd model (late 2006)

  • nice, i would get a macbook but id rather pay more and get a macbook pro. i have a mini at the moment. save save save lol

  • mac os x is exciting. or vista owns mac's ass?

  • wtf...

  • Translation. Why can shit Windows be like this? *jealous*?

  • Thank you so much!

  • Where did you get your Background?

  • you can just hold shift down when you press the minimize button, and it will have the same effect.

  • no, see Akyriakos response... two comments down

  • where did u get that wallpaper?

  • made it

  • oh i want that desktop image so much, would you be so kind to share this one?

  • Yea I agree, that's an awesome desktop. If you don't mind could you send it to me too?

  • Wanna send it to me ;)

  • sure, message me with an email or aim or something and ill send it to you

  • hahah wtf all u need to do is press shift when u click minimize

  • no... thats how to get slow motion, this is a different effect than the genie or the scale effect

  • haha o never mind

  • thhx heh i dont get to see all the video

  • what is the name of the song??? i like it

  • end of the video....

    Don't panic - Coldplay

  • Isn't it cool what you can do with the Terminal! I figured this, and many other things while back...

  • yeah

  • Yummy.

  • That effect is actually pretty ugly... But if you want it you could also get TinkerTool to enable it with a Gui. And it restarts the finder too automatically so no logging out/in.

  • Cool background. Where'd you get it?

  • i made it

  • Nice desktop, I want that background.
