Yeah I went in July and it said it's closed until winter, so I didn't get to ride it, but if your going soon, just know that the Rockn'rollercoaster at Hollywood studios makes up for this being closed, I thought I was gonna die in the beginning of the ride because it accelerates so fast that you can't breath, and barely see.

This ride is theoriginal, designed by Walt Disney himself. If Walt Disney Was still alive back in the 90's Paris wouldn't have been a thought because he was a true american and had all his scenery/spuvenieres made in America.

If he came back to life, he would be pissed to see what the Disney Company had done to everything. Paris's Space Mountain doesn't even stick to the true Space Mountain character and is rubbish, in my opninon. It is just WAY too small for Space Mountain.

they will be adding a new que. Sadly,

you won't be able to see the stars and

asteroids in the que waiting area

WDW is being very secretive about what they're doing so this is only what I've heard. They're redesigning the layout of the coaster and they're doubling the capacity of the trains co they can hold 12 riders instead of 6. Plus the new trains will have an on board audio soundtrack and the stations as well as the que (line) will be completely redesigned. I'm also hoping they're installing a new outdoor lighting system similar to the SM at Disneyland. But that's only what I've heard.

Well, I am sure whatever they do to this classic attraction it will be outstanding. Even though the coaster itself is good, for me, its not thrilling enough. I wonder if we will see a new coaster that will be more like the kiind of thrill Rock n Roller Coaster offers?

Yep, but it sounds like a different recording. I noticed it too when I went on it back in March. It's so weird. The Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain does not feel thematically anything like Disneyland's at all, even before DL's was redone.

Yep, MK's opened in '75, with Disneyland's two years later after Disney noticed the success it had in Florida. Disneyland's was reduced to one track and the mountain is only 2/3 the size due to lack of space.

I'm glad they're finally bringing MK's up to date, though. It's definitely a rougher ride than Disneyland's.

Looks like I got there just in time! We went in February for the first time (I'm 30!) and this was one of my very favorite rides. I happen to love the nostalgic, out-dated kind of vibe this ride has... reminds me of Star Wars (the original) or something. Sad to see it's being changed, but I'll also be interested in seeing the changes when I go next time.

I have searched and searched and cannot find anything more than they plan to repair and replace track, update the line walk through, the end show and other general computer and safety upgrades. I have not been able to confirm anything about them changing the track from it's present path, Disney has also reported they will be making it darker with more stars and upgraded sky view- that means no more flying cookies ;o)

I'd get there before the park opens and get ready to do plenty of walking. Gotta warn you though, Space Mountain may be closed as it's getting a major refurb done. But start your day off there in Tomorrowland as just about everything there gets a long line quick. Don't be suprised if you see lines as long as two to three hours long for Space Mountain (if it's open). Best spot for the "Wishes" fireworks is standing between Main Street and the statue of Walt Disney with Mickey.

first of all disneyland can't really be made bigger since it sits in the middle of anaheim second i think it's sleeping beauty castle and plus disneyland has the honor of being called the orginial walt disney himself walked in that park rode the rides etc he never got to set a foot in WDW and that's something exclusive to disneyland and plus i heard some of the rides at disneyland are better then that at WDW so disneyland has it's pros despite being very big

In Epcot, probably. But not Magic Kingdom.

I consider Disneyland the superior park, but WDW the superior resort. DCA just isn't up to snuff now and there are a lot more things to do on WDW property than at DLR. When I went there in 2005, we somehow managed to squeeze both parks into a single day. Granted, I don't think we spent enough time at DLP, but it gives you an image of how limited attraction space is in Anaheim.

Oh, and I'm a split decision as to which SM is the best. The Disneyland one has the most polish right now, but the WDW one has better thrills. It jerks you around, while the DL one is smoother and relies more on our perception of top speed.

I went there in 2003.Most of the good rides were closed except splash mountain,thunder mountain(I was there a day before someone died),matterhorn.Indiana Jones and Space Mountain were closed.Space Mountain was the only reason why I came and on the internet they had nothing listed about the refurb! Actually they can add a sound track or 2 for each side or just one to make it slightly longer for the other side then when they merge together in the reentry tunnel and unloading station the audio will merge together that can work perfect.
