MySpace was just about the worst code ever written deployed on one of the worst infrastructures ever created :-)

Sure it made fixing it harder down the track..... but they captured the market first.

Good point, in business its often not the best or brightest which succeed, but MySpace was hardly scientific research, or a pioneering engineering feat.
