@RobotsGreatWar2 True however, Chaos 2 was the best and most notorious flipper in Series 3 to Series 5. Dantomkia has an impressive flipper and i'll give them that but Gravity has much more kick in theirs. Another thing that most be taken into consideration is that it took Tornado to defeat Gravity. If Tornado weren't to have fought Gravity, they would have easily made it to the title.
@Bowsersshell facet from series 3 claimed top speed of 48 mph, and a robot called sabre tooth from one of the later series claimed a top speed of 70 mph, because they replaced their flywheel with an ordinary tyre, which then ran along the floor as well.
i believe cassius 2 could reach about 30, but the fastest machine across the arena i've seen is storm

Well Gravity wouldn't have much chance against Razer. Not just because of Razer's immense crushability but also because Razer's ground clearance is so low that even Firestorm struggled to wedge its flipper in there. If lucky though, Gravity could catapult Razer high into the air like anyone else.
I think that if Razer can get his grip on the flipper, he would most likely be flung away, so he would have to only attack the back, and since Gravity is pretty fast, it MIGHT just be a challenge for the Razer team.
I doubt Razer would be flung away because not only would Razer's beak be pierced in the flipper but also Razer's wedge would be underneath. Besides, Gravity's flipper is pneumatically powered and Razer's beak is hydraulically powered - and hydraulics have more force in them. It'd probably bounce both of them in the air slightly though.
I genuinely feel sorry for the firestorm team against razor.
Theres something very likeable about firestorm. When it first debuted it had a lifting arm that was very slow. Series 7 firestorm was rapid, and if it hit you at full speed and flipped at the same time it was devastating. Only robot to tip mr pysycho over as well.
Always wanted to see them beat razor, but razor's design is just too good for all robots except pussycat.
Gravity is without a doubt my favourite Dutch robot. It took out Dantomkia the same way that Dantomkia took out Chaos 2. And in 6 seconds? I would've loved to see Gravity vs Wheely Big Cheese.
I don't know if they're still competing today. I heard that there's a program called Robots Live or something which has some old robots like Behemoth, Pussycat, Dantomkia and Terrorhurtz. But if Gravity and Wheely Big Cheese are on that show, that'll be awesome.

The ram is not that long, 100mm bore and 180mm stroke. The biggest advantage Gravity had was the 2 Burkerts inlet and huge buffertanks behind it. The co2 flow was much better.

Not really, Dantomkia still uses a double acting cylinder, Gravity used a single acting cylinder that is not connected to the flipper arm and it used bungee cord to retract the flipper.
Mike did say that, that doesn't mean it is true though. :)
Now it is true that us Dutch roboteers learned lots and lots from the UK roboteers in the first years. We don't deny that and are very grateful.
What Mike Lambert did first in Dantomkia is work with full pressure co2 with the use of solenoid valves. This is pretty much the default for flipper robots in Europe now. Before that most flippers were either low pressure (to 16 bars) or full pressure by using fire extinguisher valves.
WJ had a frame built for an event in Rijswijk, and went to Mario, and said, put the biggest and best ram system in there that you can fit in there. That is how it developed. The system has major differences with Dantomkia, and the ram system as first made in Gravity is now known as a "Gravity style" flipper.
Well, looks like the Gravity guys\ hit the nail right on the head- if you get under them, you flip them, if they get under you, they flip you. Gravity got underneath Dantomkia. Mind you, Dantomkia might not necessarily have been able to do the same to Gravity if it had got in first because its flipper isn't as wide.
I don't know if Gravity could beat Chaos 2 though, George Francis was one of the best drivers Robot Wars ever had and like I said, it's about who gets under who, not just power.

Robots with powerful flippers tend to be the most effective fighters I've noticed over the years. Checkout Battlebots as proof. The champions were almost invariably robots with powerful flippers or lifting arms. Unfortunately, to me they are the least exciting. I love robots with spinning parts the best...they create a lot of carnage.
Gravity would win, hands down, even though Wheely Big Cheese has the most powerful flipper in all of robot wars, I never found it to be really reliable.

Yes but behind the scenes I'm almost completely sure the crew warns them not to do it again. Why do you think he didn't take on the house robots in this battle or the next? He could have easily taken shunt and Sgt. Bash
