@romaniandudeee yes. $30/month. this phone is awesome though. i love it. totally worth the $30 for how fast the internet is and hwo many features it has
@romaniandudeee baaaaa normal ca e nevoie haha... tmobile though.. fuck verizon.. youre just paying for the brand just like the iphone. in this case its the carrier...
i like to have a case for my droid to protect it so thats why i cant get the dock which i rly rly wanted to get at first so thats why theres an free application called dockrunner that looks and does exactly the same just not standing up BUT there is a body glove case with belt swivel clip AND the kickstand feature so problem solved by spend around the same amount for getting a case and a kickstand thing
It is correct...check out the CHP site if you want details. Only legal positions are bottom left of windshield or bottom right...you have to be in a 7" square area bottom right, 5" area bottom left (specifics might be a little off).
That is the current law in CA...whether or not it's actively enforced is another question.
It's not illegal to have a windshield mount in California any longer but it can't be in any area that block the drivers forward view like the center of the windshield. I never understood why people put it there anyway.
You can mounted on the left below the drivers eye line.
California figured out that forcing it off the windows caused most to mount it so low that they had to take their eyes off the road to view it so they changed the law back in Jan.
I just wanted to respond about why some people put their GPS mounts in the center of their windshields. I do it because in my 2004 Malibu, the windshield on the left side of my steering wheel is too curved to allow the suction cup to mount properly. After 15 minutes of trying to find a place, I ended up just putting it in the middle. Since I live in CT, it's not an issue.
Redflee, so you know, that "mount disk" isn't a spare, that is for you to stick to your dash or console or something so that you don't have to stick the suction cup to your windshield. :)
It kills me, I have the Palm Pre and the Touchstone magnetic charger was $60 and it did not include a charging cable. You had to use the one that came with the phone. But Sprint does have cheaper rate plans Wooo Hooo
Yup - the doc at least feels like it's worth more because it includes charging, has a little weight/heft, and the droid looks SO cool sitting in it. But the car mount is just a few pieces of plastic and a magnet (to set the Droid to car mode when it's inserted). But like you said, many of us will buy both regardless...
ok, how dumb is that you get the dock, charger and cable for 30 dollars. Then you get a piece of plastic without a charger for 30 dollars. Call me a sucker because I am buying all of those accessories.
The secondary mount disc with alcohol prep pad is for attaching TO THE DASH BOARD.
As you have said, some states do not allow windshield mounts, but may allow dash mounts. The secondary disc allows the suction cup to stick to the dash board (via the sticky coated disc)
Really nice to see them close up. I'll be getting both accessories as well. Just wondering how the Car phone holder mounts. Is it permanent or can it be taken off and remounted?
And yes, I'm in a major countdown for next Friday as well. I'll be getting three Droids on a family plan.
It's temporary on the windshield or dash mount - just release the suction and it comes right off. However, if you use the dash mount you'll have to stick the secondary disc on your dash, and removing it later might leave residue or marks (or just an area of the dash less faded).
was it me or was this guy excited when opening the stuff? XD

Did you have any problem with mounting on your dash? My plate would not "cure." I ended up having to use super glue to keep the disc on my dash.

is it illegal to have the car mount on your winshield in california??
jj4life24 2 years ago
Never heard of such a thing...and I doubt, because I see cars with it all the time.
My sister also uses one.
No idea where you would get an idea of car mounts being illegal. Maybe you are thinking about tints?
