Il ventisettenne pianista italiano Alessandro Taverna in una splendida esecuzione: l'erede di Pollini? Esecuzione degna di Weissemberg, Pollini e Gilels
He is playing waaaay tooo elegantly...yes, it is a balley music , but still it is a Russian dance for God's sake!. Denis Macuev performs this way better
Really wonderful. Colourful playing. Different tone colours could be perfrectly shown. This is the best version of Petrouchka that I have ever enountered.
I'm happy to say I discovered this song through a manga/anime since I'm not a fan of classical music but I can say it's been in my head ever since.Simply beautiful.
Was that anime by any chance Nodame Cantabile because that's actually how I fell in love with classical! The drama based on that anime was even better, I think.
wow, this is like one of the hardest pieces in the whole world and he makes it seem so easy!!!!! especially the passage with the triplets against the straight quavers and semi-quavers.....its sooo unfair:(
Taverna is quite wondrous!!! bravo ! His playing the piano is so human, so elegant,so refined... I'm fond of what he does, his physic attitude at the piano, his perfect control of the balance between intellectual approach to the piece and spontaneity. I hope he'll make a very beautiful career...
Really wish she would have done the rest of this song, I was ring in my head for awhile up to the point she stop playing so i had to find it and hear the rest.
In Nodame Cantabile some of it was ad libbed, so it's understandable that it sounded different. Also, note that Nodame tends to play in a cantabile style.... ^_^
This is amazing, though. Wish my hands were larger so I could get all those octaves right =(
i´ve seen this piece in *nodame cantabile* and it instantly blew me away ... but this guy here sounds a littler harder with more contour than the other version ... Well ... not that i think it´s bad , it´s really really good , but these contours kill this childish play-illusion ... which i really liked ...
Playing THIS at a competition?! Wow that's risky!

This is the way it is supposed to be done. It is a dance piece for Petrouchka, Ballerina and the Moor after all. It is supposed to be very rhythmic.
sclo7777 4 years ago
that may be the case - but with contour i didn´t mean thy rhythm. but i think the notes are hit rather hard and fast.
so it doesn´t seem very dreamy and if it´s to dance with a ballerina i think a childish and rather smooth following of the notes could be even better.
anyway, the man has done great and perhaps it´s just a matter of liking it or not ^^
