  • He uses copper because it is an excellent conductor of electricity and ur a noon

  • @electrotech555 Not sure what a noon is but if its something bad then your just pathetic for trying too offend someone over the internet, where your nice and safe tucked in at home :P And I'm pretty sure I'd know copper is an eccelent conductor since its used in wires, coils, everything elecrical excusing a few things, some voice coils use aluminum but w/e. But Hi-def shouldn't be the name for this since it is only capable of producing frequencies in the khz range since there is NO suspention

  • @masterwolf1212 Alright kid, This is prob one of the few times that I ever would make a minor insult in someones video. Anyways, I meant noob. When I was inexperienced in audio and was just doing it for fun, I was a noob too. Not insulting really, just a fact I guess. Btw I don't hide behind my computer screen, I have this thing called a life and I bug off people who comment rudely on my videos. My advice to you is to chill out and enjoy the videos you make because they are genuinely yours.

  • @electrotech555 Ya know your defending yourself after calling me a noob then telling me to keep making videos... I basically follow this, don't like a vid don't comment. I don't need to be called a noob because of a video I made over 2 years ago when I was in seventh grade, before I avidly got into the hobby of audio. It offends me because I now have spent my time actually getting into audio, and I do know more then I did then. So you don't know me, don't say what I am. I am experienced NOW

  • @electrotech555 Oh and branching out from that last comment are you actually into audio? I don't mean this as an insult I just see no actual audio videos to prove your experience, not doubting it. But yeah I wasn't experienced then because I never had the patience to avidly learn. Now I build enclosures and such, and am getting 2 SA-12's in a 3cu ft. enclosure, and since the F3 is around 23 HZ I'm thinking of tuning somewhere from 32-35hz, w/ interchangeable aeroports to tune it to 40hz for comp

  • @electrotech555 And I meant F3 of 44hz and sry for the multiple spamming of comments youtube is lacking any form of "useful" tools such as longer comment's and also edit function.... But are they gonna listen? Nope! lol

  • @masterwolf1212 Ha I know what ya mean by the youtube tools thing. Good luck with your audio projects, and I haven't uploaded any audio videos because I haven't got around to it. Btw, What audio equipment do you prefer? Just wondering, Good luck again and I hope you enjoy audio because it really is an amazing thing.

  • @electrotech555 Thx man, and sorry for getting all defensive its just people look at my older videos, and I get alot of crap of people saying idk what I'm talking about and back then I rly didn't xP But I've learned through forums and experienced people the advanced aspecs. As for audio equptment, what criteria are you talking about? Microphones, speakers... etc? For actual speakers I build my own, and when doing so perfer fostex woofers, since their suspention and design is good for horn loaded

  • VC's are easy to make just wind 30 Awg wire around an empty toilet paper roll. then put a neodymium magnet near it u should feel it vibrate then u got your homemade speaker hope it works :)

  • @Anthony96922 Yep.... Ummm I've known that for around 3 years now and have done it before. I've recoiled a subwoofer too, lol. But thanks! I made this video when I wasn't too knowledgeable about audio

  • @masterwolf1212 What sub did you recoil? Your RE sub or the Kicker one?

  • @Anthony96922 wait, I've never owned a kicker, lol. I've never recoiled the RE, but it WAS custom coiled from a guy named derek who owns a shop down where I live, he's as nice as exocontralto if I were to compare. I don't spit that out alot though because people never beleive me, but I don't really need their beleif to make me happy, its the fact that the sub can do what it can do. But I guess when I get a new sub next summer I can show you guys :P

  • i tryed it and blew amy amp because the penny is very short and thik

  • @10cmsub its not cause the penny is short and thick..... Its cause you created a curcuit hooking positive and negative to the penny so the power went back to the amp....

  • @masterwolf1212 yeah i know but i wanted to warn people

  • @masterwolf1212 im a kid just like you

  • @10cmsub Um... Ok. Im in 9th grade.... I was in around 7th when I filmed this. Lol :P

  • @masterwolf1212 you defintly look younger and i look older

  • @10cmsub okay. Do you understand that this video was filmed a while back before I hit puberty and grew? Now if your going to be like that I don't even want you on my vids. Stick on topic or get out...

  • No shit Sherlock...

  • can you be any louder?

  • r u reading that off wikipedia or something

  • Nope! Thanks, I am gonna take that as a compliment. Actually, I got started because my dad is an audio engineer, so he taught me my first learning steps when I was about 4. He taught me the spider, cone, dust cap and all that, and a little bit about impeadance. Then, audio basically became my favorite thing ever. I know more then probably 99 percent of the kids, and have built my own custom enclosures, well, made the blueprints myself, but my dad helped me cut it because I am not so good cutting

  • And I was looking into the computer because I was holding the webcam, and I wanted to see if I was getting everything on it. Trust me, I knew all this stuff, thanks! ^^

  • srry much look at my vid tipe BASSHUNT3R it tha 1st 1

  • No problem. Thanks, I saw, but please don't spam. ;)

  • correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure if the impendance on a speaker is higher itis usally easier to drive my amp can power an 8-6 ohm spaeker but if i attach my sub which is 4 ohms it shorts out

  • You are a little wrong. Its like a foset. So, nomatter how much you turn up the sink, there is still the same amount of pressure going to the sink. That is like the watts. Now, when you turn the sink on oh so slightly and the water is dripping, that is like 1 ohm, because it is hard for the water to go through the sink, like how the amp would have to struggle to get those, say, 70 watts to the speaker. Now say the sink is full on blasting. Same water pressure, but now, the water exits fully.

  • The lower the Ohm the less resitants there is, so wouldnt the faucet be almsot full blast at 1 Ohm ?

  • Didin't I say that? Hmmm, maybe I got it backwards. I'm not dyslexic though, just a rush to get through the vid. My bad.

  • You said " Now, when you turn the sink on oh so slightly and the water is dripping, that is like 1 ohm, because it is hard for the water to go through the sink,"

  • Sry man, and thanks for being so cool and not saying I'm a dumbass little fuck for not getting it wrong. Lol :P

  • Cont: That is like 100 ohms. Now if you plug in a subwoofer to it that is 4 ohms, and your amp is 8 ohms stable, then the subwoofer is so easily powered, too much power slips through the amp, overloads it, and it clips. Clipping is bad for the subwoofer, and can blow it, and can overheat/blow your amp too. Too much can overload it because it is pushing the power too hard, and that can stress it out, and blow/clip it, but a faster blow and less clipping.

  • just a few corrections bro. its ponounced pee-zo not pee-zee-o. and its pronounced ex-cur-shon not ex-curt. and there was more which i cant remember. just a few errors. good explanation tho

  • Nah man, Excurt is also a term. If I said "it excursions" if makes no sense. Excurt is a word. But maybe its pezo, its just when I bought a pezo speaker I guess the peezo was the brand. :P

But still, the only thing you can correct me on is pezo. Not being mean, but you are wrong. :) I really know what I am talking about, there is only 1 mistake in the vid.

  • yep sorry i was tired. yes i was wrong i wasn't tryin to be mean just helpful. :-)

  • No problem man! Don't sweat it!

  • pee-et-so

  • also, pennies arent all copper!

pennies have a small pellet of copper in them, but they are mainly zinc!

meaning, copper bb's can be magnetized, however, aluminum is not magnetic because it is not a conductor of electricity!

  • Exactly. To make a speaker, you need a magnetic force. No magnetic force, well, really no speaker!

  • just something to add.

Power is determined by which was the electron flow is.

so when that woofer gets current, it pushes up (or down)

when it gets current that is constantly changing polarity (AC) it goes up and down via how many times it changes polarity a second, also known as Hz.

    ;3

  • I tried that speaker, it failed horribly, I knew it wouldnt work, but I was bored and had a penny. Good vid. 5 stars.

  • Thanks! ^_^
