hmm Firefox used to be good but unfortunately that was all in the past. Now it's allways crashing down on me lately, without even downloading toolbars into the sucker, versions 3.5.3 and v3.6 beta 3 (both bad but better than Google Chrome wich is as slow as IE5) and they'r not resonably faster than IE7 or 8. But now Opera v. 10.10 kicks some major arse as it's pretty reliable,fast, looks mint, has tons of free wisgets, and the option to view websites in full screen without any hussle&adjustments

Firefox can suck my cock. It is FAR more heavier (I don't know why they are making claims of new being faster). It continuously jams. Crashes A LOT! The 3 look SUCKS! Opera is much faster, has a better look, the switch between windows is faster. Doesn't crash. Doesn't hang. And if you want the best of the best browsers, just try opera 10 RC 1 OR opera unite.

Yeah Opera is really secure. I use it every day. But at this present day IE and the new browser Chrome are getting better, Firefox 3 is really bad for security, I just watched a video on it, it only blocked 3 out of 10 malware sites.

FF3 is a disappointment as it's sooo slow compared to last version. I am angry they twist your arm to update to 3.

Tried Safari 3. Nice and fast but keeps crashing on Win XP and always when i'm using Cpanel.

I've used them all, and been a loyal Firefox user for a long time- five or six years. I like the Firefox 2.5 build- Gran Paradiso- but build 3 is too bloated and slow. I've just downloaded this new Opera suite, and I was instantly hooked. I just switched back to Opera from Firefox and I have to say it is better. My Firefox takes 1-2 minutes to start up and Opera takes 10-15 seconds. Plus it has mail and contacts built in. It just needs AdBlock, unless it has it already. Chrome is too slow and buggy. It crashes a lot watching YouTube vids. IE is just pure crap.

Firefox 3 on my laptop uses no more than 80mb over a period of time.

Opera 9.52 is about the same.

Firefox 3 is still a bit slow at browsing.

Opera 9.52 is ridiculously fast.

Firefox 3 has inline spellchecking.

Opera 9.52 has something similar via Ospell, but you have to click a button to check.

Inline spell checking & maybe 1 or 2 other quirks is what leaves me to use Ff3 more often than Opera, even though I favor Opera more than Firefox.

Opera is non-free software, so a large amount of people / hackers do not use it.

No offense, and this is written on opera, which i do say is fast and decent lookin, but i am loyal to software freedom.

And the fact the gecko is so bloated is why webkit exists, and then it will bloat up. I say, make a free rendering engine, but kep some control of it's development. Or else it will be very bloated.

But IE's engine "Trident" is bloatware itself.

I tried opera way back when, but I just couldn't get used to it. I may have to use it again, though, now that flash stopped working on FF3 for me. Also everytime I try to install flash, it copies the files to a nonexistant opera folder, so why not?

Opera is good becouse she is save all previus pages, but mozilla is faster, safer and batter look. On X sites thay say that only on IE and mozilla will show the site in full quality. FF3 and Opera 9.5 are both really fast, really great browsers. One really isn't much better enough than the other, not enough anyway to be a reason not to use the other.

As long as you're using one of these 2 browsers, and NOT Internet Explorer, you're good. The end.

I could recommend both internett browsers as they both are among the fastest, and the most secure! I'm using opera most of the time, but I'm also using firefox for specific internet pages!

Hmm what should I start with... lol. to get firefox working right u have to download about two dozens of plugins/addons or whatever theyre called and what ull get is all the functions Opera has by default. Opera loads faster than FF (proven). Opera really blocks pop ups without messin up the website ur lookin at unlike FF. The viruses you may get using IE will also come through FF, but not Opera. Opera has so many useful features that i honestly cannot count em all, FF still need plugins... etc

Side comparisons seem like a bad thing to do with browsers. You can't time it correctly enough for it to get the right times, and bandwidth is shared by both, and could be obscured. I say do a timer test instead.
