Again, I can't stop listening to this. I hear elements of Samuel Barber's Second Essay for Orchestra and Franz Waxman's Taras Bulba score in this...with classic John Williams horns over top! It is an incredible pastiche--but it's all Giacchino!
I cannot stop listening to this Track. I love it. It has an energy that was missing from his Star Trek score...and the variety of themes and scoring techniques recalls his excellent Incredibles or Medal of Honor scores...
Theme sounds ALOT like John Williams's Tintin theme, I still like the track though.

Is anyone reminded of Bernard Herrmann's Skeleton Duel from 7th Voyage of Sinbad?

The smooth melody in the background that starts at 0:43 to 0:54 is on the official site of the movie, just in another version.
Sounds so good that just like out of this Earth, which would be very accurate to the setting of the movie (Mars).

Wow, as I was listening to this, I actually thought I was listening to a John Williams score (i.e. E.T. or Indiana Jones). Well done, Giacchino.
