To get into a hospital nowadays, you gotta bring your own blankets, ur own pillow, even ur own lightbulb because the lights go out. and sleep with one eye open, or sum1 will steal ur crap. u go to the doctor, and u need penicillin for example, but there isn't any left. go to another 50 places, they dont have any either. what doctors usually recommend is herbal medicine and tea.

Cuba is POOR!!! Extra poor because they are closed of the World by the US for decades! The fact that the hospitals there have poor conditions, doesn't change the fact that the healthcare is free and universal there. Unlike in the very rich USA, they do the best they can with the litle they have.
The reason these men had to travel to Cuba is because we have a criminal organization operating throughout North America that denies the benefits these injuured workers are entitled too. In fact these workers compensation insurance companies are useles to anyone who is disabled and can't return to former employment. Their only concern is the corporations they are protecting from financial harm, and to torture and murder these "financial liabilities".

I had dental work done in Havana while I was living in Costa Rica. In my experience the Cuban system is about equal to that of France. It is fascinating to learn how so many Americans hold to a fearful picture of a world they have never seen.

In free market insurance companies will always deny. Cause they are to bring profit. Any cent they paid is their loss. Also since a customer is pretty much excluded from relations between hospitals and insurance company it leads to growing corruption and skyrocketing prices on a quasi-legalised kickback basis. Most countries with 'socialized' medicine do have private too for those who able to pay. And it is never close to astonishing US costs. Meanwhile, their doctors are driving porshes too.

The military is government run, but it is very well funded, are you going to complain about that too? Of course not. It takes up over half of our budget. If you start a war that doubles the amount of living veterans and veterans with disabilities, you are going to need a big increase for it to run properly. He didn't do that, and that's why that particular "government" agency doesn't work well. Painting everything "government" run with a broad stroke without analysis is an oversimplification.

Fire fighters and police are run by local governments not the federal government, local governments are held to their actions by the citizens in the state.

It doesn't only diminish profits, it drastically reduces the quality of the product. Heads of state from other countries WITH socialized medicine come here for care from our private doctors. Consider some of your examples: The public school system is consistently deteriorating and it "solves" this problem by lowering its standards every year. Meanwhile, private schools run much better and much cheaper.

Fire depts. are a weird thing, I would argue in favor of it. I don't approve of *volunteer* depts. in general if only because they tend to waste more than they ever save. In almost every case, you could replace 3 volunteer depts. with 1 paid dept. for 1/2 the cost and twice the efficiency. This isn't really my opinion but that of a 20-30 year emergency responder in my family.
Let's turn this around. Let me grant you that police and fire should be socialized. Should auto dealers?

To get into a hospital nowadays, you gotta bring your own blankets, ur own pillow, even ur own lightbulb because the lights go out. and sleep with one eye open, or sum1 will steal ur crap. u go to the doctor, and u need penicillin for example, but there isn't any left. go to another 50 places, they dont have any either. what doctors usually recommend is herbal medicine and tea.

If you know someone who uses the "VA" hospital, ask them what they think of government health care. The answer to every problem is "more funding", if the system doesn't work, why give it more money?
To answer your question, No, I would pay for my own bill. If I still need help, I would turn to Family, Church, and Charity in that order. Most people turn right away to the government. The government needs to get smaller, not larger.

There is no "embargo" on Cuba. There are no sanctions on Cuba [at least not by the outside world]. America is one of Cuba's biggest suppliers in humanitarian aid. Yes, the Cuban economy is strangled with people struggling to live. That is caused by the Castro regime destroying his country. It's not cause by the American-Cuban community, not by America but by the Castro regime.

Children get milk until about 3 years old (i may be wrong, but i know it is not until six), and it's a very small amount of milk anyways. You need to look at some pictures of real Cuban hospitals, not the touristy crap that Michael Moore showed in his movie.
These are hospitals with filthy floors, no bedsheets, and roaches running all over the place.
It's "free" because it's garbage. You have to bring everything yourself: food, medicine, clothes, bedsheets, even a fan to keep yourself cool.

You've forgotten that while Britain successfully stopped Germany's air battle they just about had all their resources exhausted. Germany could have been able to divert resources and halt the Russians had it not been for the fact that America invaded and forced them to fight a war from both sides. I'm not saying that Britain and Russia did not fight valiantly, but to say that America did not have an important role to play in stopping the Nazi assault is wrong.

Cuba is a very poor country and so what their hospitals are worn down . . . but the fact remains the same, their infant mortality rate and the life expectancy is same as the U.S. Don't you think that a rich country like the U.S with such MODERN HOSPITALS should do better? America sends tens of thousands of patients around the world for specialized healthcare. Don't even deny it beacause I work at Toronto International Airport and almost DAILY I have to offload AMERICAN patients to go to Canadian AND European hosptials. American is by NO means the "kings of healthcare" so please stop with your America is perfect propaganda and open your eyes to the rest of the world.

Try having a relative living there and go to their hospitals. They have to bring their own, sheets, wash their own cloth, they don't provide you with any thing, and not enough personnel to help you because they send them to Venezuela, Bolivia, Africa, or to the special hospitals for foreigners. So don't complain about the one you went to.

We should not believe all we see on Fox. The owner is a well known republican, and the network has been criticized for having twisted views. According to Fox the war in Iraq is probably going great too. The press should not serve as an instrument for the government, but Fox are doing all they can to support the Bush adm. This draws parallels to the old soviet days where news with political undertones where common.

Cuba is POOR!!! Extra poor because they are closed of the World by the US for decades! The fact that the hospitals there have poor conditions, doesn't change the fact that the healthcare is free and universal there. Unlike in the very rich USA, they do the best they can with the litle they have.
