If you're that close a friend, and Scientology goes the way they say it goes, get ready for her to ask you for a loan. Not to pay off creditors, but to get more Scientology courses. Draw a line soon. But be prepared, once you do, to have her never talk to you again. It's a sad fact. She's already a goner.
dear jettagirl if you cant be led "into the light" may be you should go to wallyworld and buy some!! no seriously better lighting please! I am a believer. i believe it should be free A bible/torah/koran doesnt cost 1000s of dollars to read and I wouldnt go to a church that has a cover charge. love ya
@Synth3t1cs So what you're saying is if someone talks to you about anything that isn't religion or they don't believe what you believe then they're boring and they don't matter. Wow, you sure think highly of yourself. Good luck making friends with that attitude.
@carlinsaves I'm not a bible thumper. I just think there is room at the table for everyone. Atheists are just as bad as the people they criticize. And the sad part is, neither side has the whole truth.
What you're talking about is actually not an isolated incident, which I think is fairly interesting. When a group proposes that they're the sole route to happiness, this is the sort of thing that happens. Like all religions, there's a certain psychological conditioning involved with Scientology, just much more subliminal than their counterparts. It's a shame that an institution is allowed to abuse their patrons the way Scientology does.
I didn't know tattoos and piercings had any effect on intelligence. Tattoos and piercings are all in the eye of the beholder, much like art. To you, I may be ruining my body. But to me, I am "spoiling" =P my body because I love tattoos and piercings. At the moment, I have a total of 9 tattoos and 5 piercings. I guess this will be another thing to share with the world, that people with tattoos and piercings can be intelligent and can be successful in life too. ^_^
This comment reminds me of a report I read awhile ago where employers were having to rethink policies on tattoos and piercings because of the frequency rising. The chief librarian of Harvard (I think) was a female who had several tattoos. How a person looks shouldn't have any real effect on their intelligence or competence, and thinking that it does is regressive thinking.
@holdontoyourwig Ah you must be a scientology goon that takes personal shots at critics. Get a penis enlarger to boost your confidence instead of taking shots at innocent little girls.
It's actually a pattern of behavior for other Scientologists. Take Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson). Last year, she donated 10 million dollars, which is double her annual salary.
If the money wasn't used the way it was (i.e. harassing critics, buying new buildings around the world without moving into them), I wouldn't be boycotting Scientology celebrities.
And with so many more celebrities joining... it sounds more like a club for who has the most money than a "religion." They should probably look more into country clubs...
The Cult of $cientology lures in people, extorts them for money, and blackmails them when they try to leave.
$cientology is the ONLY religion CONVICTED with infiltrating government agencies to obtain names and information on people they see as 'enemies'.
The unfortunate truth is that Church of Scientology members are financially exploited. Some have even accompanied the member to the bank to ensure fees are paid. It is one of the most dangerous scams out there.
I know a registrar (the person who's post it is to convince you to buy and take your money) in the church who said that they couldn't even remember how they acquired the first $4,000 they paid for auditing. And they were a Clear which supposedly means, among other things, that they have a perfect memory. They basically said this as a "do what ya gotta do to get the money" kinda story. I actually got the vibe that they might have done something bad to get it so they said they didn't remember.
whats the shit on her face?

I could use 13 grand as toilet paper and it would still be better than donating it to Scientology.

Atheists are boring.
Atheists always think people care about their opinions.
Atheists proselytize more than the worst bible thumper.
Good luck with your crusade.

If I had a credit card with 13k, I'd cut it up. It should be called a debt card, that's all they do, generate debt.
If I had 13k cash, I'd buy some clothes, shirts, pants, shoes....simple stuff, enought to last a few years. That'd leave like 10k.
I'd put the rest away for a rainy day

scientology all it does is break down life into something understandable. how is that in anyway similar to a cult?
pinoysamurice 2 years ago
Scientology, like most cults, relies on an addiction to easy certainty and simple answers. ._.

I agree with everything you said, but I really want to buy you a burger. That's all I could think. Have a wonderful day!

A good lesson in common sense! Don't max your credit cards. Leave yourself some CUSH! Even if your donating to the religion of your choice.
