I would recommend having someone who can assist you. Have someone stand in front of you and guide you down, and help push you back up so you get used to the motion. As a tip, you'll probably need to be capable of a pretty heavy squat before you'll even be able to do 1 rep of glute ham raise.
Very good, but it is tough exercise for the average person, just as full range sissy squats are. Their common counterpart the leg curl/ext isolate the hams and quads w/o engaging the glutes, which just doesn't happen much in most sports activities. Isolation is more a bobybuilding technique, but , w/ a few execptions, it's major waste of time for sports training.
@sulsabam yeah. the GH-R or Nordic/russian leg curl is proven to reduce hamstring injuries when playing sports, going down controlled is hard, but coming up that's a whole nother story
Are you crazy, his knees are on the pad as opposed to his quads. Do you know how hard that is??? Excellent form, and you are doing it at the hardest level... bradford1986 shut up and lets see you try it, you'd probably break both your legs and squeal louder than Ned Beaty in Deliverance!!! Ha!
not perfect form as the pelvis is anteriorly tilted, and the hips are back (cheating), but never the less, a good attempt at a very challenging exercise
im scared that the fuckin thing will flip
