  • Google Inc sent around these trucks with 360 degree camras. I guess they had to drive everywhere? Anyway I know this cuz my friend say one of these trucks and started to follow it down the road with his window open. Trying to get famous maybe

  • Not everywhere, you can't use this view in countries like, China, south Korea, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka Bangladesh, South Africa United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Turkey, etc.

  • well its just been launched in the uk and last summer in london there was smart cars with google on the side with a tall camera ontop of the car just taking photos of the street

  • Meh... i'd say more cool than creepy because it's nice to have a landmark to go with your directions. I'd be interested in seeing how this integrated with Tele Atlas and if it eventually trickles down to the devices that use their maps

  • I did this from my house to my former job, and it took me *through the field at the end of a dead end* on the street behind me ROFL. However, although you didn't mention it in this movie, we can drag the little white circle around to the correct route, and it auto-updates with the new route (including new street view icons).

  • This is an amazing feature. The only problem I'm having is the clarity of the picture when you zoom in. The resolution doesn't seem to be high enough to read street signs, etc. I tried this on Mercer Street in NYC.

    Otherwise, great job Google!

  • This is exactly why I love Google so much. They give us all this super useful features, FOR FREE!!

    In matter of fact, I've almost never seen product of Google where they charge you money for.

    Well SketchUp Pro, and Earth Pro are not free, but they do provide, good useable free versions. Without creating all too anoying limits that forces you to buy the pro version.

    Good job Google, keep up your fantastic work :D
