Poem: No excuse

I'm all about having the freedom to express your religion and to be honest, that was a nice poem. Words were put together nicely but isn't this the opposite of what christians believe? Calling "him" a guy thats bad with holding grudges?

Thanks for asking this question and responding in a courteous way. As you can see from the words in this poem ("I have been preaching on your streets, but you held me in contempt."), this is not about Jesus being a bad guy, but about mankind rejecting him. Though He lovingly extends his mercy (which no one deserves), people reject Him nonetheless. He is the only worthy advocate, so to speak, to be justified in the eyes of God. Rejecting Him means staying under the just wrath of God. (cont)

The passage pat refers to is about hypocrisy: that people feign to be worshippers and show off to others, but it's just a masquerade. So it does not apply to being a witness for Christ: that is my mission as His follower. For instance He says: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
