I arrived at my first temp job at GTE at 7:25 for a 7:30 start time. I shown into the break room while my supervisor logged onto her computer, then mine. She called me in to start training at 7:45. She saw my Kelly time card where I'd put 7:30 as my start time. I was instructed to change it to 7:45 because that's when she started training me. She was petty as an insect for the 2-1/2 years I worked there, would always focus on the trivial--but at least it gave her pounding headaches!
I temped for 8 years before finally retiring. At the three companies I worked for, GTE, Sprint and Intracorp (Cigna Health Care), was a resident bean counter who tracked every minute of your day--you had to go it yourself at Intracorp. You'd be called into a conference room every month by a flunky to go over your "stats". I was once reprimanded for designating a 7-1/4 minute block of time "Miscellaneous" when it should have been called "Other"! She was serious! What a waste of time!
In 1967, I got a job at a bakery supply firm in Dallas--I was fired on the spot two months later. Two weeks later I was hired at Lone Star Gas Co. on 11/29/67, where I remained for 30 years--early retirement with reduced pension at end of '97 due to merger. We got blanket raises all through the 70's to make up for the inflation. That kind of corporate benevolence is over and done with, never to be seen again. I feel sorry for today's young people--they'll have a hard row to hoe.
Geez I thought they meant a senior citizen who was going to NYU, if that was the case then I could understand having some sympathy, that would be messed up.
The market's gonna "Turn Around?" Sorry to break it to you, but we are at Peak Oil. No amount of bail out is going to save you.

The administration needs to quit with the handouts and create jobs to rebuild the country's infrastructure. Jobs = Pay No handouts.
