  • Her knee sounds a little out of tune.

  • brilliant harmony,

    yet utterly artificial expression

  • wonderful she is brilliant

  • Perfect!

  • This gorgeous and talented lady reminds me of the briliant Bonnie Raitt..ask me who I prefer and my answer......both they can put so much of the percieved talent we have today to shame

  • wish i knew the chords for this :(

  • dadgad...

  • The sound of music.

    It will never catch on.

  • Eddi's voice is like a wingless angel. She has a voice that could wram the coldest of hearts. She is a brilliant perfromer and I hope she carries on with her solo career. She is a wonder that all of us should enjoy.

  • Maybe I'm getting old but this is a wonderful piece free from the autotuned, demographically targeted stuff we call Music now. This is what it is and all the better for it

  • @draven26 if it is true, i wish to be old

  • but if it hurts you.let it go.......i love some of these lines they are truth and simple beauty....caught in a few words...mary

  • diamonds in the coal thanks Gisa lovely share just shared it on mary

  • MAGIQUE.......amicalement JESSEE...♥♫

  • Cant get better than Boo Hewerdine and Eddi Reader. NO WAIT.. possibly put kris drever in there.. bliss

  • voice of an angel

  • Fantastic <3

  • Dios, pensaba que habia desaparecido de la faz de la tierra..............aun recuerdo cuando cantaba "Find my love" y estaba en Fairground attraction band........de todos modos, parece que el tiempo no ha pasado para ella

  • Her voice is so massively celtic. I love it and hate it. Still, wherever I am, that timbre always makes me feel most at home.

  • Sunshine on a rainy day

  • I love you Eddi!

  • Beautiful. Needs a fiddle when Boo comes in. Guitar and knee slaps - simple and perfect. Hard to keep your simple soul. The challenge for all. Love when they are singing separates at the end. Last cd I had of hers was Robert Burns, now I want to see if anything has been out since.

  • This is a precious piece.

Is this traditional or her own material?

  • eddi and boo wrote this--only takes a child to see the diamond in the coal

  • she sings from the soul, very few performers these days have this talent. Eddi stays close to her roots, a special person with a love for pure music.

  • @jwdsnapper I agree with you its beautiful

  • @jwdsnapper Agreed!

  • Gorgeous - what a truly lovely song. She is such a whole-hearted performer and person, listen to her signing Burns songs {not long to the 25th} and there is a match made in heaven!

  • i loooooove this song!!!!W eddi reader!!!!

  • I love the simple setup: A (great!) voice, a guitar and a (beautiful!) knee, that is used for percussion.

  • One of the finest voices on earth

  • i agree please keep going this song is so uplifting

  • Please keep at it Eddi and never stop making such beautiful music.

People often forget the power of music, words and words put to music. This song is brought with extreme devotion. Very touching.

    One of my favourites.

  • this song is so simply beautiful

  • Beautiful....i saw Eddi Reader live a few years ago...the gig was in an old chapel...the acoustics were amazing.

  • Guitar, voice AND knee slapping ;-)

  • guitar, voice = absolute magic. this is all you need when the songwriting is of this quality. no tricks, just purity.
