  • @ShannensOrigami thanks it helped a lot

  • Watch my tutorial on the origami rat.

  • really bad tutorial you skit the most important parts, im lost

  • R.I.P Eric Joisel In the fight of lung cancer

  • its very easy but my paper got crashed at 8.27

  • very easy

  • what´s the difficulty level?

  • @2000Heshreds I'd say it's of intermediate difficulty. But everyone has their own definition. I know many would call it high intermediate or complex.

  • @AdamsSara thanks i would call it intermediate too

  • are u a man or a woman???

  • @demondog571 Does that matter? I'm female.

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've been trying to make a good rat for a while now. This video was very helpful and I was able to complete my rat! The feet of the rat is a bit messy however it stands fine. Thanks again!

  • Can't get this done with paper sized 15x15 as there seems to be gathering too many layers of paper for some folds. The outcome is always somewhat messy with large curved folds. Guess a bit bigger paper might do the trick.

Anyhow, otherwise I can't wait to get this work. I have a feeling like this model might take the 1st place on my list of favourite models!

  • @OneWhoDoesParkour1 Yes, 15cm is quite small for this model!

  • I really loves this origami rat but Howerver I think its easier to do the nose after I fixed the head......

Thanx for doing this video and all the others! =D

    I <3 Origami <3<3<3<3

  • R.I.P Eric Joisel

    1956-2010

  • rip eric joisel :(

  • can you please tell me what kind of paper was used for this model?

  • @cpeury In the video I used normal origami paper (kami).

  • @AdamsSara What was the size of the paper?

  • @OneWhoDoesParkour1 Looks like it was a 20cm square, although I cannot say for sure.

  • Danke, for uploading this. Now, after his death, I feel it right to fold something in memory of his great works. RIP, Eric.

  • i thinkill just take my paper and run to jonakashima

  • this one was also published in one of those tanteidan convention books...

still waiting for number 15 though -.-

  • @missmag823 I am German.

  • @AdamsSara what difficulty level is this model??

  • @baconman47 Everyone has a different rating system, so I'm not sure whether it will mean much to you. However, I rate it as an intermediate model.

  • fuckk 7:19 took me freaking an hour to figure out lmao...

  • I don't think any of us can comprehend the mystery of the 7:19 demon fold. Only the magician you see before you, can manipulate the paper to her will. Bravo bravo, now where do we exchange our souls to learn this dastardly trick?

  • If you do an inside reverse fold instead of an squash fold at 5:47,it will safe you some time

  • omg i got to the end and it riped:((...

  • lol i love your magical lines that show up after each fold!

  • You only have to follow the link in the video description to get the diagrams.

  • Impossible for me, wtf at 7:16 ? :(

  • That's pretty awsome, But I had a lot of trouble around 7:16.

  • como haci pa ke e vean ss lineas n el video ?????

    keda filete

  • im having a disusting amount of trouble right at about 7:00 and on. is there any way you can help me? my paper won't flatten where yours does..

  • Have you had a look at the diagrams? They're available on happyfolding(dot)com.

Let me think what else might help you. Have you seen my video on the maple leaf? When forming the top point of it, you do a very similar step. Try watch?v=70EXYOommQ8 around 8:26 - maybe this view will make you understand the fold better. If you need further help, just let me know.

  • @AdamsSara i need help on that part too.

  • thank you for all the effort u have put into this video. ur was the first with all the awesome instructions. ^^

  • dear sarah,

your video helped me a lot folding this model, thanks for that.

i was just wondering what kind of paper u use because my model doesn't look slender at all.

    greetz

    chrizz

  • Thanks sara! i once tried this model a really long time ago when i first started origami and got confused and eventually just forgot about it. thanks for reminding me of this one!

  • can you make kamiyas dragon ryujin?

  • this is a very kewl video but i had alot of trouble with the mountain fold

  • Dear Mrs. Adams,

I thought, I would never get the chance to learn one of Mr. Joisels models and now there I found here an excellent teacher in you. Thank you very much!

  • pitch

  • oops i made it ty so much

  • where r u getting all these origaminst's permission???

  • I contact the designer directly. Finding addresses can obviously sometimes be a bit of a challenge. ;)

  • ugghhhhhh! u go too fast on this 1! slow down!

i can't keep up! it might be ez to u but its hard 4 me!

  • um, he IS going slow.

  • it's a she .

  • omg this is so hard but i am not giving up!

  • don't understand the part in minute 7:19

  • wow! This video is great, like this folding rat. Very nice! Could you please post a video with the Robert Lang's Tarantula (Origami Insects Vol. 2)? I'm stuck on steps 17-18... :-(

Great videos that you post. Sorry my english.

  • Sorry, I don't have the book "Origami Insects Vol. 2" by Robert Lang.

  • I thought you could knew the book, because you know how to fold the scorpion. Thanks to you, i know now how to fold this rat. Keep the good work.

  • The scorpion is from the first insect book Robert J. Lang published (Origami Insects and Their Kin).

  • I don't have "Origami Insects and Their Kin", but he (Robert Lang) as a scorpion too(i don't know if is the same)in the Origami Insects Vol. 2 . So i thought it was from the same book.

  • No, it's a different model. The scorpion in Vol. 2 looks quite different, too.

  • this is soo hard i don't get near the last part it soo hard i can't even see that part

  • you sai then, then, then,

  • cuckoo clock are in this book: "The Complete Book of Origami"

  • but can you the the cuckoo clock?

    is difficult?

  • I haven't tried folding it yet.

  • can you make a video with the cuckoo clock

    by robert j. lang?

  • Highly improbable, I think.

  • On the miut 7:39 see this video Eric Joisel Rat Step 14-17

  • this video are very easy but the second one I'm stuck

  • i'm also stuck its more around 7:39. i dunno which crease your talking about :P please help great video though :D

  • ugh. i can't make it.

  • I can't do the 7:49 part

    can you explain to me?

  • Hm, at 7.49 I'm just flattening the model along an existing crease, as far as I can see. Or are you having problems with the collapsing that finishes round 7.49?

  • i at 6 min jam!!!

  • At 6 minutes, you're simply performing a squash-fold. I'm not sure what could cause complications there. Please explain further what you are having problems with.

  • It's so great with people who don't just try to show how fast they can make a complicated origami. There were some parts in the diagram I didn't understand, but thanks to your video, I managed to make it =)

  • sara help me..

  • Whereabouts?

  • gracias por todo!! simepre quize aprender a hacer esta rata!!

    aprendi mucho con tus videos

  • sorry... i got it

  • in the first video at the very end when you say do the other side...the other side is diifferent? I don't know where to go from there?

  • "no lo encontraba en ningun lado"means I couldn't find it anywhere.I couldn't translate the rest.
