Smoking causes the pleghm or something like that to increase in your throat, which makes the screams/inhales/exhales/grunts sound more scrathcy, which sounds more 'brutal.' But then, if somebody smokes all the time before metal 'singing' then that wouldn't really be there actual voice.... fun facts!
